Crickets chirping, wind blowing and rustling the forest shrubbery. The usual sounds of the night. They weren't sounds that Test Tube got to hear much anymore, but they weren't unusual to her. Something that was unusual to her was the welcoming warmth. She walked by, interrupted the collected noise with footsteps and the sloshing of the water bucket she held.
Just as planned, she walked out of the forest, being greeted by Hotel OJ. Even if it wasn't a common path she took, she still knew it by memory. She smiled when she saw all the lights were off, meaning it was most likely safe to go in. Just what she needed.
She had been cautious about her plan, almost too cautious. It had been a fair while since she had done something like this. In a way, she had never done this before. Not with how she was planning on doing it, anyways.
She approached the building, looking the tall structure up and down. If she had done everything right, all she would need to do was go to the infirmary. The cupcake hadn't been enough to actually kill anybody, but water should do the trick.
Having the person in the infirmary made everything a lot easier. There was no roommate to worry about, and the infirmary was on the first floor. Plus, it was away from the other rooms, so there wasn't much danger in it. And luckily, she knew where the infirmary was from experience.
She walked across the side of the hotel, peering into the windows. The inside felt almost dead compared to the energetic vibe she remembered the hotel having. It couldn't be that hurt by the current events though, it was probably because everybody was asleep.
She paused as she looked at a certain window. If she remembered correctly, this should be the infirmary. And if everything had gone correctly, Microphone should be in here. Of course, like always, there were a couple problems, such as the screen on the window. Nothing she couldn't get around though.
The first thing Test Tube did was switch the bucket of water to her non-dominant hand. Then, she reached into her coat's pocket, pulling out a small pocket knife. She lifted it to the screen, slashing along the edge of it.
The screen began to split apart at the edges with a slight buzzing sound, something comparable to a zipper. Once Test Tube reached the bottom, she turned the blade, cutting the bottom of the screen as well. This way, she could get through it, but it wasn't easily noticeable. It wasn't like they wouldn't find it eventually, but just in case.
She lifted the now broken screening of the window, leaving just the glass in her way. She slid the knife into the lock, twisting it at all the right angles. The process felt almost tiring by now, but maybe that was just the late hour.
Finally, she managed to lift the window. Test Tube pushed back the curtains, peeking her head into the infirmary. She looked around, but Microphone was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, the only object she saw was Knife, letting out rasp snores on the cot near the door. It didn't take long for Test Tube to realize what had happened. She let out a small groan, closing the window again.
He must've taken it instead of Mic. Of course, Test Tube had been prepared in case that happened, but that didn't make it any less annoying. She did find it a bit funny that Knife of all people managed to fall for the trap though.
She began walking back around the building. Her original plan obviously wouldn't work. Sure, she could technically try to sneak into the hotel itself through the infirmary, but she could do that with any of the rooms. Plus, she had no doubts Mic's door was locked.
The original plan had been simple : Test Tube would go into the infirmary, use the water, then leave. Obviously, that wasn't going to work now. Luckily, she had anticipated something like this, so she had taken some precautions so that the entire plan wouldn't be ruined. She'd have to make some adjustments to it now though.
