Test Tube casually swept through the room, tugging at the mask over her face. Char scattered throughout the room, sprinkling itself onto her white lab coat. She sighed, knowing it would leave a stain, but she still had to clean out the lab.

Last night, she had slept in one of the spare subject rooms. She had set them up during the experiment in case the main rooms of the lab were destroyed. Although she never intended on sleeping in them herself, they did come in handy in this scenario.

She had already made her decision on what to do next; she had to clean up the rest of the lab to make sure it was actually livable again. She knew there were some experiments that were permanently destroyed in the explosion, which was a bit of a pain, but she knew the lab itself was still salvageable. Besides, she still needed somewhere to reside now that she was back.

She had considered stealing one of the boats from the docks and renting somewhere to stay, but she quickly realized that her list of crimes had probably become public if all of the subjects had been out for so long. Staying in her lab was also much cheaper and less risky, so it was for the better.

The air was blackened, she could barely see through the smog that had spread throughout the air while she was cleaning. Things would only dirty themselves up again if she continued cleaning while the room was in this state. She sighed again, knowing well that it was getting repetitive, and exited the room.

She turned on a vacuum from the outside, slipping the tube inside the room before closing the door around it. She'd let the room empty itself while she took a break, then she could get back to preparing the lab.

What was there to do with all of this time though? She didn't exactly have any plans, and she doubted Fan would just come running back to her after what she had done no matter how much she wished he would.

...Well, there was no harm in checking her messages again, right? She knew Fan had read them at the very least, and sending a couple more might show how much she cared. Then again, it might come off as a bit too desperate.

She shook off the thought. No, she needed his help still, and she'd need to take every chance she got. Plus, he was just a nice person to have to talk to in general.

She gingerly took off her mask and gloves, making sure not to get soot everywhere. It's not like the effort mattered much considering her dirtied coat had already left its marks on the floor, but it was the thought that counted.

She walked across the room to her desk and sat down in her chair, facing her computer. It was one of her older models, sure, but she was lucky any of her technology survived the explosion. If only the search team had made sure everything had been destroyed, huh?

The computer powered on with a click. The battery was about halfway empty now, but that didn't matter at the moment. She'd have to create some sort of power generator at some point, but she still had enough battery to last until she could make something to recharge the computer.

She typed in the password and was allowed entry. To her surprise, she actually had a couple of notifications. She opened both of them, reading through them both. One of them was just a website stating that her subscription had been canceled, which was to be expected after literally being dead for a little over five months, and the second one was a message from Fan. Her heart leaped, but she couldn't quite tell why. She opened the message, reading through it with haste.

Your#1Fan :
"why didn't you tell me what i was doing?"

...

Oh. That wasn't exactly the message she had been expecting, but then again, she had no idea how Fan was going to respond anyways. That's not to say she didn't deserve it though. She knew she could've dealt with the situation better, Fan had every right to respond like that.
