The next day in Japan, Kei walked to the kitchen to get a early morning breakfast. He decided that he would train hard that morning, before he had to try his hands on hand to hand combat with Shoya later that morning. He grabbed a plate of potatoes, bacon, and toast with gravy and went to a table to eat.
As he sat and ate his breakfast, he scanned though some self defense books, that Yo-ka left behind for him to study from.He studied the moments very carefully and made sure he had everything memorized. As soon as he was done studying, he closed the books and began to help the chefs prepare for the other samurai.
He sat tea around all the tables and made sure everything at the tables was nicely set. Soon as everything looked good, he went up to the dojo to ring the gong.Once he rang the gong, Kei went to the training grounds to wait for the other samurai warriors to be done with breakfast.
He went to the sparing grounds and began to practice his hand to hand combat moves. He practiced breaking wooden boards and cement blocks. With every stroke, he broke even stronger blocks and wooden boards. He practiced for at least an hour, till he had to go ring the gong again , to signal breakfast was over and training was about to begin.
Kei went to the gong on the grounds and rang it two times. Once he was done with that, he waited in the middle of the training grounds for the other samurai to arrive. Once all the samurai were around him on the training grounds, Kei looked at his warriors, "Today, I will be observing how each of you improve with your skills, now we must be extra vigilant today, we need to improve our skills just in case of danger."
The samurai bowed to Kei in agreement, then went to their spot on the grounds to start training.Once everyone started training, Kei went around checking in on everybody's progress, while getting ready for hand to hand combat after everybody's training. He was very impressed by his warriors progress and only had to help a few samurai correct their form.
Soon it was time to check on his partner Shoya, to see if he was almost ready to train with him. Kei walked around the grounds to find Shoya, but couldn't find him anywhere on the training grounds. He slowly walked to the samurai's quarters to see if he could find Shoya. He walked till he reached Shoya's quarters and then opened the door.
Shoya was sitting on the floor, looking rather upset and worried. Kei walked in and went over to sit next to Shoya, "Shoya are you okay?" Shoya looked at Kei and began to cry, "My parents died Kei, in hands of a ninja from China last night." Kei looked at Shoya in shock, he couldn't believe this happened without him noticing. He put his arm around Shoya, "I'm sorry for your loss Shoya, I really am."
Shoya smiled and Kei helped him up off the floor, "Let's go train , that will help you feel better." Both of them walked to the training grounds, so they could begin their hand to hand combat. Once on the grounds the other samurai surrounded Shoya and Kei, to watch their hand to hand combat fight. Both of them took their places, as they waited for the signal from one of the other samurai warriors to began the fight.
One of the samurai raised a white flag and swung it down to signal the fight to begin. Kei took a swing at Shoya, but Shoya dodged it right away. Shoya took a swing at Kei and missed by a mile hitting a tree behind him. The samurai cheered as the two of them kept swinging hit and after hit at each other.
The fight was getting so intense, the other samurai started betting who would win. Some of them bet on Kei , some on Shoya, some couldn't make up their minds and rather not get involved in the bet. Soon the swings from Shoya and Kei started to get faster and faster. This made Shoya rather upset and angry that Kei was dodging each and every blow he threw at him. His face started to look red and soon he looked like was going to physically hurt Kei.
When Kei was turning to face him, Shoya kicked him to the ground and jumped on top of him. He then started to take several hits at Kei's face, while the other samurai tried to stop him from hitting their samurai master. After a while, Shoya got up and then kicked Kei's manly area, making him scream in pain and fall to the ground. One of the other samurai, who was behind Kei, went up to Shoya looking rather angry.
This samurai warrior by the name of Elizabeth, looked Shoya in the eyes, "You are a disgrace to the samurai warriors Shoya, you have used hand to hand combat for revenge, that is against the laws of the samurai, for that you must be suspended from samurai training for a month." The other samurai looked at Shoya in disappointment, as marched back up to his quarters , looking even more mad.
Elizabeth walked over to Kei and helped him up and took him to the infirmary. Once they got there, Elizabeth went to get some ice for Kei and to go make some tea for him also. While Kei waited for Elizabeth to return, he tried to think why Shoya went full blown revenge on his ass. Shoya was usually never the one to overreact or get revenge on anyone in the dojo.
Soon , Elizabeth returned with a few ice packs, pain meds and some tea for him. Kei took the pain pills and swallowed them down with the green tea. Elizabeth looked at Kei, "You should rest up in here for the night Kei, those pills will make you too sleepy for you to walk back to your quarters.
Kei nodded and Elizabeth turned off all the lights as she walked out. He laid in the dark for a few minutes and soon he drifted off to sleep.
