TWO

The four teens strolled into the hospital, well three of them at least. Liam couldn't walk so Scott and Stiles carried him in while Sapphire followed slowly behind them. They reached the counter to ask for a nurse when Milissa walked around the corner, stopping dead in her tracks at the sight of her son and his best friends holding onto a boy who was groaning in pain.

She quickly grabbed a wheel chair and the two boys help Liam sit down.

"Don't worry Liam, we'll take care of you" she said as she started to wheel him away.

"Wait, can I come with him?" Sapphire asked as she stepped forward.

Liam looked surprised but smiled at the girl "can she?" he asked.

"Of course" Milissa said as she motioned for Sapphire to follow her to Liam's room.

Liam and Sapphire spent most of the day talking and laughing, basically just getting to know each other.

"Wait so you mean to tell me that Stiles almost broke your nose, twice!?" Liam exclaimed.

"Yep, but it was when we were really little and goofing around," she told him.

Just before they could continue talking, the door to Liam's room opened and a doctor walked in.

"Hey bud" the doctor said.

"Hey" Liam said looking down.

The man walked toward the two teens looking over to Sapphire smiling at her.

"Oh yeah sorry, Sapphire, this is my step dad".

The man reached for her hand to shake, to which she accepted "it's so nice to meet you" she said, shaking his hand.

"Likewise" he said before turning to Liam.

He reached for his ankle gently lifting it. Liam yelped in pain as his step dad put his foot back down.

"It's broken, isn't it?" Liam asked.

"Well it certainly needs an x-ray" his step dad told him.

"It's broken and it's my fault," Liam said, looking down disappointed with himself.

"You wanna tell me how this happened?" he asked his step son.

Liam looked over to Sapphire who nodded towards him before he started speaking "I went up against two juniors" he said slightly embarrassed. "One of them's captain of the team" he continued

"One of which is my annoying older brother Stiles and the other one is Scott, the team captain and one of my best friends," Sapphire explained.

Little did they know that Scott was outside the room listening to their conversation. He felt extremely bad for what happened to Liam.

"Liam remember what we always say, play smart not hard" his step dad told him while putting a hand on his shoulder.

Liam looked towards the other end of the room before speaking "are you mad at me?" he asked.

"No, of course not, your mom might be mad at me for getting you into lacrosse but maybe we should wait for the x-ray before we panic, and trust me I have more reason to panic than you" he said, trying to lighten the mood.

Both Liam and Sapphire chuckled before Liam's step dad started talking again.

"It's not over yet, wait for the x-ray" he said before leaving the room.

"I'm gonna go to the bathroom" Sapphire said as she stood up and walked towards the door. She looked back to Liam who just nodded before she opened the door and walked out in search of the girls bathroom.

After she was done she made her way back to Liam's room, she could have sworn she heard a scream but thought nothing of it.

"Liam I'm ba- what the fuck" she exclaimed as she saw a creature with lots of sharp teeth and blood covering its mouth, holding onto Liam's neck.

"Let him go!" she yelled.

When it didn't answer she lunged forwards heading straight for the strange creature.

"I said let him g-" she couldn't finish her sentence as she was shoved into a wall, hitting her head pretty hard and knocking her unconscious.

Sapphire had woken up but she wasn't in Liam's hospital room anymore, she was on the roof.

She watched in horror as the creature pushed Liam off of the edge. She thought he was gone until she heard his voice yelling for Scott to help him "I can't hold on!" he yelled.

Sapphire slowly pushed herself up the wall to help steady her balance, she started making her way towards the roof edge to help Liam but was too late when his grip loosened and he started falling. She screamed as she watched Scott latch onto Liam's arm with his fangs, biting him. Liam screamed in pain causing Sapphire to fall to the ground and covering her ears while tears escaped her eyes.

Sapphire heard a thud and her eyes immediately opened, looking around the rooftop in search of Liam, she saw Scott pull him back over the edge as they all looked over to the now dead windigo laying on the floor with a tomahawk in it's back. They looked to see who had killed the boy and Sapphire's face scrunched up when she saw that the killer had no mouth.

The man walked away and everything was quiet until they heard Liam groaning in pain holding onto his wrist where Scott had bit him.

"Oh my god Liam!" Sapphire yelled as she ran toward him, falling to his side "I'm so sorry oh my god" she panicked.

Liam didn't respond, instead he looked up at Scott angrily before screaming in pain again, he removed his hand to look at his wrist.

Sapphire gasped as she saw a very visible bite mark on the boy's arm, a tear falling from her eye as she knew what was going to happen.

The bite could either turn Liam into a werewolf or it could kill him.

And Sapphire wasn't ready to see another friend die....
