𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐎𝐍𝐄 split second of absolute silence as Aemond's words registered on everyone. A split second in which there was a relative dead calmness.
Then Jace stood, hands slamming against the table as he did so, and glared at Aemond. Alicent followed with her scolding and Aegon sank to his seat beside her with his cup of wine.
Megaera on the other hand was fuming.
Did she indirectly cause this entire ordeal?━━ yes, yes she did. But did that mean she wasn't angry Aemond called her brothers bastards?━━ No, no it did not.
Within a breath, a crack echoed and chaos broke out within the room as Megaera's fist collided with Aemond's face.
Stunned, the one eyed prince stumbled back, head pushed to the side by the force of her fist.
"You fucking moron!" Megaera forces out between the noise of her family and their chaos behind her.
Her fist raises again and she strikes again. Aemond barely manages to move out of her fury filled strike as her rings leave a shallow scratch on his already scarred face.
"Megaera!" Her mother's warnings do not reach her as she prepares for another hit.
Aemond sees this one coming however and his fury matches her own as his own hand meets hers halfway through. With a strong tug and a grunt, Megaera finds her nack connecting with the pillar Aemond stood before.
A cry of surprise and pain leaves her lips and Jace is before Aemond then, throwing his own hit to her stunned cousin.
What was he so stunned about anyways!?
"I dare you to say that again!" Jace snaps at Aemond, whose face is still turned to the side from Jace's hit.
It's quiet from the younger Targaryen royalty in the room then. Viserys has stood, staring them down with a warning glare and Aegon is kept to his seat by a glaring Baela. Rhaenyra, ever the one to avoid stressful situations like these while pregnant urges her children to retire to their rooms at once.
Through the noise and the mayhem they caused Megaera's stare finds Aemond's and a new fire lights itself within Aemond's one eye.
