Eliza

Later that day, once everyone had retired to their rooms for the night, I stood in front of the vanity, taking off my earrings before I would go and change into something more comfortable from the bag I'd packed for the night.

Waleed returned to the room after he'd excused himself to answer a few congratulatory messages and check the sales of the new product.

I smiled warmly at him through the mirror and reached behind me to remove the clip that had held my hair up all day. He carelessly tossed his phone on the bed, and opened a few more buttons on his shirt to offer an enticing glimpse of his chest before he came to stand behind me, meeting my eyes in the reflection. When I couldn't hold up his gaze anymore and looked away to toy with the ring on my hand and remove it. I wasn't planning to remove it but I needed something to do.

A light shiver ran up my spine when his arm snaked around my middle and his fingers splayed across my stomach as he leaned forward and kissed my temple. I put my head back with a sigh, letting it fall against his shoulder, then smiled lazily at him with droopy eyes.

My lip curved into a smile when he ran his thumb across it. I was familiar enough with him to recognize that look on his face and his tentative touches. "What is it?"

"There are moments in my life, Eliza, where I find it hard to believe that the people around me, the things I'm blessed with, are all real. It's one of those moments again where I'm struggling to believe that a woman like you is my wife."

I laughed lightly, slightly overwhelmed by his words and his affectionate gaze on me. "Should I take that as a compliment or...?"

"Only compliments for you, meri jaan. Only compliments."

A silly little smile formed on my face just as my heart decided it was a good time to start waltzing in my chest. "Bare romantic mood mein nahi hain aap?"

*"Aren't you in a very romantic mood?"

He smoothly turned me around so I was facing him now with my arms around his neck. His lips captured mine in a soft and slow kiss that had my heartbeat accelerating.

"I," he kissed my cheek.

"Love," his lips traveled down to my jaw.

"You," then, he kissed my neck.

"Waleed!" I squealed when his tongue and teeth grazed a particularly sensitive spot on my neck. But he didn't relent and soon enough, the ticklish sensation subsided until sparks of pleasure coursed through me and my eyes clenched shut, my hand fisting the material of my dress.
