Nimrit was combing her hair while remembering the cute movie date with Nivedya. "Date"? Her heart questioned and she lifted her skirt to see her legs. Were they sexy enough to be stared at? She wished her school skirt was shorter. "Wow! Those are some perverted thoughts!" Her heart remarked and she bit her lower lip practising a seductive smile in the mirror. Nimrit was happy but she wasn't sure how "normal" they were now?

Nivedya was waiting for Nimrit at the school gate as if he was watching a flower bud slowly unfurl, anticipating the bloom of their presence. When she stepped down from her bus, everything else blurred for him except for the gorgeous face of his girl.

"Hi," Nivedya greeted her and she replied with a wave. "I was waiting for you. Why was your bus late?" Nimrit just shrugged her shoulders because she didn't know if her bus was late or was Nivedya just early. "Alright, come let's go to the class." Nivedya held Nimrit's hand but she withdrew it immediately.

"We can't walk hand-in-hand like that. We are... I mean it's school, not a park." Nimrit was too shy to look into Nivedya's eyes and just kept walking alongside.

"So, how about... going to a park today evening?" Nivedya asked her directly.

"Are you asking me out?" Nimrit stopped walking and asked him with a tease. They were still fighting and the matter had still not settled, completely.

"Umm... No! We... Us Friends can go out like yesterday."

"Oh!" Nimrit's excitement died and she added, "I think, I should study. Our exams are close." They entered their class and sat in their seats.

Nivedya thought she was still annoyed because Aarfa mentioned to him, Nimrit was hesitant to come yesterday too. The class started and they concentrated on the topic. Nimrit was counting minutes to the next class when they will get their results. It was a very important practice test for the upcoming examinations.

The answer sheets were distributed and Nivedya secured the highest marks. He got all his answers correct but still lost two marks. Nimrit was happy with his achievement.

The teacher didn't give Nimrit her paper and said, "I somehow, missed checking it." Nimrit knew the teacher just saved her from the questions of her friends who would ask her the reason for her poor marks.

Sometimes, being a topper in the class has its demerits. When you get high grades for the first time, you tell people and after that, people ask you about your scores.

The teacher called Nimrit to the staff room and gave her the paper in which she barely scored sixty per cent. The teacher asked the reason but Nimrit couldn't tell her she was thinking about the fight with her lover. To avoid further enquiry, Nimrit just promised the teacher it won't happen in future. She secretly kept her paper in her bag and didn't know how she would explain to her parents about her bad grades. She felt frustrated but thankfully, the latter half of the school was just sports class where she could shed all the baggage.

At the basketball court, Nimrit and Nivedya were on opposite teams and the fight was tough. Nivedya loved her game but she was playing rough. The coach gave her warning three times before sending her out for a break.

Nimrit sat outside and in that duration, the opposite team scored four baskets back to back. "Oh! Come on! You could have stopped him." Nimrit shouted from outside getting restless.

The coach declared half-time and Nivedya jogged up to her and asked, "What's wrong, huh? You could have slipped and hurt yourself. It's just a match."

"Your team is winning, you would say that," Nimrit replied sharply not looking at him.
