Chapter 4

"Liking pics isn't cheating. It doesn't mean anything," Alisha says, justifying her behavior on Facebook.

"So what did he say when you told him that?" Tina asks, curious about her friends drama. She's also happy when the conversation isn't about her.

"Just that "liking" pics will make guys slide in my DM's."

Tina and Mya both agree, but don't want to defend Charles.

"Well I had a good night. I hooked up with this fine ass man," Mya says, hi-jacking the conversation, as usual.

"Let me guess...you met him online?"

"Damn right," she says, as if she's proud of her behavior. Mya hasn't told them why it's so easy for her to find men, but they don't need to know everything.

Tina's phone goes off, interrupting the conversation.

"Let me guess, that's Ben?" Mya asks very sarcastically.

Tina flips her off.

"Yes I can meet you," is the message from Ben.

She has been asking him to meet up more often, hopefully distracting him from this other chick he's talking to. Maybe she will get suspicious and stop talking to him. She hopes her plan will work.

"If Anthony doesn't care about Ben being my friend, no one else should," Tina says, irritated by how they act every time Ben comes up. She excuses herself and doesn't wait for any of them to respond.

All this lying and sneaking is starting to wear down on her. She has constant migraines, brought on by stress. She is losing weight from loss of appetite, which Anthony and Ben are both noticing.

"You don't look so good," is Ben's first response, "you sure you're not pregnant?" he says jokingly trying to lighten the mood.

Tina knows this isn't possible. She's been on the same birth control for years. Her fear is that she is having a repeat of what happened when she was younger. She had migraines and it ended up being caused by an aneurysm.

"Don't play like that," she says, being serious, "I'll be fine."

She does start feeling better which she attests to the Tylenol she took earlier.

"Just come and hold me," she says, moving to the bed. The next phase of her plan is to get Ben to take a trip with her. Whoever this girl is, she can't possibly be ok with him spending all his time with her: but she has to find a way to make sure this woman finds out.

Starting to feel sick she tells Ben she needs to go. Ben is concerned, but she assures him she needs rest: she is starting to feel very sleepy.

By the time she makes it home, her migraine has returned, along with being nauseous. Anthony is there to greet her. He is smiling when she first walks in, but his smile fades after he sees she's not feeling well. He thinks he knows what will make her feel better.

"I have something to admit, but keep in mind it's in your best interest. I realized that I need to support you more and be there for you. I wasn't giving you enough attention and that is what probably drove you to OnlyFans."

Tina isn't sure where this is going just yet.

Anthony goes into the room and comes back with a bag. He hands it to her.

"Anyone with an addiction needs help. So I found something that will help you, as well as help our relationship."

Tina reaches into the bag and pulls out a box. It is a pregnancy test. She has a rush of mixed and overwhelming emotions.

"What the hell is this?" she says, finally finding her words.

"Hear me out. If you're pregnant you wouldn't be on OnlyFans right? Plus, I think it's time for us to take our relationship to the next level." Of course Anthony doesn't realize, Tina getting pregnant would mean the baby could possibly be Ben's.

Tina's anxiety is rising quickly.

"And one other thing," he says reaching into his pocket, "will you marry me?"

She has a look on her face that could easily be mistaken for horror.

"I have something to tell you first. Something you need to hear in case you want to change your mind."

Now Anthony's face mirror's Tina's.

"What could possibly keep you from saying yes?"

"Look. I already took a pregnancy test and it was negative."

Anthony is confused. It doesn't make sense. Why wouldn't she be pregnant, with all the symptoms?

"But why would you think it would have been something you planned?" she asks.

He gives her an innocent, don't be mad look.

"I switched out your birth control pills with vitamins. They were the same shape and color, and I knew you wouldn't be able to tell. I watch you carefully. You pop your pills in your mouth without even looking."

"What the hell Anthony!? That was the stupidest—"

"Don't be mad, please, I love you and I just wanted to help."

"No that's not the problem. Well it still is a problem, but there's a bigger issue."

He looks confused.

"I carry my birth control pills around with me. I keep them in my purse in case I run out of the house and forget, so I can take them when I remember."

Anthony is floored and confused. What pills did he switch out?

"Didn't you read the bottle?"

"No. I was switching them out after you put your pills in the tray each week. I just remember it being blue."

"It IS blue, but not the ONLY blue one I take."

Tina is in tears now realizing which medication he was switching out. The only other medication she has that is blue.

"We need to go to the hospital, immediately."

Anthony is terrified but wastes no time grabbing his things and walking her to the car.
