Chapter 7

Looking at the phone, Tina turns her nose up.

"What the hell do you want?" she thinks to herself, seeing Ben's number pop up.

It has been several months since she last spoke or saw him. She decides to let it go to voicemail, but instead of a voicemail she gets a text.

"911. Call me" is all the message says.

She feels like he's full of shit, but what if something really is wrong. She decides to give him a call.

"What?" she says as harshly as she could.

"I didn't call to argue. I want to apologize to you," he says with sincerity in his voice.

Tina is shocked. She's not sure how she should feel about this. Is he trying to come back as a friend, a REAL friend, or trying to have sex again?

"What are you up to?" she says, deciding to dig a little deeper.

"I just...ok don't laugh. I got Catfished."

Tina tries hard not to, but she busts out laughing uncontrollably.

"What the f***!? That's what your ass gets. Karma is a b**ch," Tina says, letting loose all the pinned-up anger he left her with.

After she stops laughing, he goes on to explain the situation. He tells her that he set up a date to meet the girl he had been talking to...no big deal. They had been talking for months and he felt comfortable with her.

"So I flew her out—"

"Hold the hell up. Did you just say you flew her out??"

Ben is embarrassed but admits to it. He paid for her everything. Even paid to upgrade her to first class.

Tina doesn't laugh this time. Now she is sad that he could let himself get taken like this.

"Ok, continue."

"Before she came, she asked for money to get her nails and hair done. Said she wanted to look good for me."

Tina sees where this is going.

"She asked for more money so she could buy some cute clothes and lingerie....and I sent it."

He continues telling her how this woman kept coming up with things she needed for this trip and he would send her the money. Then came the day she was supposed to fly out.

"She said she was boarding the plane, and then messaged me saying she had landed. I go to the airport..."

Tina can hear the hurt in his voice.

"Her ass never shows up."

"Damn. I'm sorry to hear that," she says, genuinely feeling bad for him.

He tells her how he waited for hours and never heard back from her. The next day he got a DM from some guy's profile saying "thanks for paying for our vacation".

This guy's profile had pictures of her and him, on some beach with a caption saying, "Thanks Ben". Ben starts to cry.

Tina becomes emotional as well.

"I miss you Tina. I'm sorry for how I acted. I do want to be there for you and the baby...I'll do whatever you want me to."

It feels good hearing him say these things. She didn't think she cared anymore, but now sees she can never not want Ben.

"I'm so happy you said that. I do have to tell you though...I did have the abortion."

There's silence on the other end.

"W-Why?"

Tina hopes she hurts him like he hurt her. He is the one that wanted the abortion anyway.

"Because you were right. I needed to do something about it. Not knowing who's baby it was would have never turned out good."

"So what does that mean? For us?"

"Honestly Ben, I think we should go our separate ways. It would be for the best."

Ben isn't sure what to say about this, but he knows when Tina makes up her mind, she rarely changes it.

She hears Anthony coming through the door and wants to end the conversation with Ben.

"Gotta go." Click.

"You ready?" Anthony says, poking his head in the room.

"Yes. I'm excited for this one."

"Me too. We can finally know the gender."

Tina finally feels like things are falling into place. She has her baby, Anthony, and she found there are an abundance of men on OnlyFans that have a thing for pregnant women.

Now if she can just keep Anthony off Tinder.

Ben can't believe what just happened. This is not the Tina he has grown to love.

"I hope she doesn't think she can get rid of me that easily," he thinks to himself. He opens up his Instagram app, all the while plotting how to get back in Tina's good graces.

"Hmm, Mya. That's a pretty name. She's bad too, and right here in town. Love me some Instagram models."
