Big fat tears of anger and frustration rolled down from those eyes that had always swirled with love and warm. Never did she think that her most cherished love will break her down into pieces this cruelly. Kris had promised her eternity and happiness. Of a future that is so bright and blinding that every time she imagines it a welcome searing heat envelopes her heart.
He was everything.
He was her life.
"What?" Faye gasped, her breathing labored. If not for the tight grip she had on the handle of her travel bag she would have already sunken down on the floor.
"Faye," Kris whimpered, hands trembling at his sides. "Please," He choked lifting his right hand to grab Faye's but the brunette took a small step back.
"I, I know that it's hard. That you must have felt completely lost but Kris," Faye took a step forward, anger surged through her veins. She grabbed tightly on fiancé's shirt.
No not fiancé.
Not anymore.
Not after she witnessed the man that promised him unchanging love eagerly making out with a half-naked blond woman on the man's couch with her own two eyes.
Faye is so ecstatic to see Kris that she hurriedly hailed a cab to go to Kris' place once she arrived in Milan but only to have her heart broken.
"Please," Kris gritted his eyes puffy with unshed tears. "I'm not. I, believe me. I tried so hard. I tried so damn hard but you are so far away, I-"
Something snapped in Faye.
"Fuck you!" Faye hollered slapping Kris hard. The man's face snapped to the side. Another slap and another slap echoed through the four walls. "-I'm so far away, you say? Fuck, Kris, don't fucking blame this on me! It is you who wants to be here! I trusted you because I love you so damn much! But," She hiccuped. "-how could you? I,"
"No, I-" The man stuttered with a shake of his head. Regret for saying those words already crawling up to his heart.
"Kris, you are the one who promised me so much! That you will never stray because I am the only one! You fucking said that you love me! I too am far away but did I cheat on you? No! Never!" She screamed, her body trembling and her eyes red with fury and pain.
Kris attempted to grab Faye's hand but the girl took a step back. "No." She shook her head. "-I, I can't. Not anymore."
"I beg you, princess. This is the only time. I never, I was just-"
"I don't care if that woman is the first whore you brought home or not! I'm done!" Faye screamed in a burst of negative emotions but when she saw the torn look that took over Kris's face, she froze and opened her mouth. She immediately wanted to take it back and apologize but the pain and betrayal that is presently enveloping her whole being restrained her from doing so. "I, we, we're done, Kris." Faye hiccuped and she started to cry again. "I love you but let's end here." Faye wiped away the tears from her eyes.
"I love you, Faye. Please, let me fix this. I, I will return back home. Back with you. Please, just,"
"—I can't. Don't ask me that, please? I'm extremely hurting now, Kris. If you really love me then," Faye wiped away the remaining wetness on her eyes with the back of her hand then she inhaled slowly to compose herself. "Let me go."
Kris's head shook his head. "Let's call the engagement off. Let's starts over again."
"I don't think that is the right thing to do. That will no solve anything at all." Faye said, eyes dropping down to look at her feet.
"I can't lose you, Faye!" Kris cried almost maniacally.
"I can't lose you too."
Breathing heavily, Faye shook her head then turned to leave. "-you've lost me the moment you disregard me to drown yourself with lust."
Kris felt like he was drowning in freezing cold water but he cannot do anything but let Faye walk out of his door.
Faye didn't glance back and kept walking further away and out of the building. She hailed a taxi; the driver helping her put her luggage in the trunk. Faye wanted to walk back and just forgive Kris but for her heart feels too damn heavy and she didn't and get inside the vehicle. "-to the airport please."
