Jaemin snorted.

Hyuck was being chaotic as always, after hearing Jisung's idea of a pajama night for a slightly late birthday party, because it was cold, pajamas were comfortable, and he loved his hyungs.

Jaemin already knew he would wear the most violently extra pear of pajamas he owned, and hoped to god Donghyuck would do the same. He didn't have to hope much though, it seemed written in the stars.

Renjun was still belittling him for even suggesting nudity in the child's presence, but there was a hint of sarcasm in his tone, which kept that dastardly grin plastered across Donghyuck's face the entire time.

Chenle then entered the kitchen with a loud yawn.

"It's like seven in the morning, why are you all so loud?"

"Chenle—"Jisung turned with a slight 'o' to his lips. "It's—2pm."

He blanked out very hard, then shuffled over with another yawn, just pressing his face into Jisung's sternum, and muttered something into the fabric of his shirt.

"Face away from my neck," he said under a smile, and Chenle whined but did as instructed.

"You smell good, sorry."

Ah, no he wasn't.

Those two mated immediately after receiving their statuses, and literally nobody was surprised.

What was surprising, though, was that Renjun and Donghyuck reacted to eachother, despite both being entangled with someone else at the time.

There was absurd drama at first, because Mark was a beta and it was awful because Donghyuck needed far too much more than Mark could give him.

Oh—and then Yuta happened.

Donghyuck was honestly prepared to just accept that his partner was a beta—despite himself being an omega—but a slew of factors all presented themselves at once, and to summarize; Mark was snatched away by alpha Yuta, which was probably the most awful part of it all, leaving Donghyuck now entirely alone, pining hopelessly after Mark because he was still leading him on, until finally he cut the thread on a trip to Japan with 127.

Renjun had been on-and-off with Yangyang during WayV's inactivity, remaining much more like friends with occasional benefits than anything official, but it started to take a toll on his mentality so he had to draw a line. They were still on good terms though, at least.

And what do you know—take an anxiety riddled alpha and a depressed omega and have them interact once in a pit of sadness, and you manage to kickstart a heat and a rut in minutes.
