"Listen," Awsten hissed into the phone he held to his ear, "You can threaten me all you fuckin' want, my best friend is in the goddamn hospital and he's part of this band too-" He paused while the other person attempted to interrupt him, "No I can't just get another guitarist! He's a part of this band, the best part!" He shot Otto an apologetic look but Otto just shrugged, he kind of agreed, without Geoff, nothing would get done in this band. "Well you tell the label execs to shove a rusty spork up their asses and to check the goddamn contract they signed! Geoff will be apart of this band, I don't care if that means we have to delay recording for another fucking year! Call me when I'm at the hospital again, and I'll burn your entire studio down with that green shit they have on Game of Thrones!" He yelled into the phone, flipped off the screen and hung up. He tossed his phone onto the couch next to Otto before resuming his position next to Geoff's bed. He took Geoff's hand once more, watching him sleep.Otto set down his phone for a moment to watch the two, wishing he knew what to say. He was so deliriously worried about Geoff, but now Awsten was showing signs of self abuse. He wasn't eating much anymore and it was a fight to get him to even leave and take a shower in the room's bathroom. As much as Geoff meant to him and as much as he loved his unconscious best friend, he didn't feel... right intruding on them. When Awsten left to go do something like shower, Otto would sit in the chair next to Geoff and tell the brunett how worried he was. About him, and about Awsten. He'd tell Geoff what Awsten did that day and just... keep him in the loop.
"He's gonna be mad that I yelled at the label..." Awsten muttered, looking at Geoff's hands now, lightly tracing his knuckles.
"I think he's going to be more mad that he might have to re-pierce his nose." Otto said, making Awsten smile a little. They had removed the little silver loop to get Geoff's feeding tube in. Awsten had tried to argue to have them put it in the other side, but the doctors had explained why they couldn't. Otto and Awsten hadn't listened, they were upset that Geoff was gone enough that he had to be put on the feeding tube in the first place.
"I miss you." Awsten said, looking back at Geoff. Otto's eyebrows pulled together and he looked down, trying not to cry from the look on Awsten's face. "I miss you a lot... it sucks not having you talking back to me... kicking me out of the band everyday..." Awsten let out a shaky sigh. "Ciara won't stop trying to get ahold of me... I wish you were here to tell me what to do; Otto's no help."
Otto chuckled, he knew it was true.
"Jack and Zack are coming to visit you, they'll stay while I go home and change, my clothes smell bad. Otto's feet are teaching the unbearable level." The drummer flipped him the bird. "Alex and Rian might come by later tonight... I wish you'd wake up, there's so much you've missed..." Awsten rested his head on the bed side and sighed. "Why won't you wake up..."
Geoff huddled in the corner of his bedroom, crying and screaming for help, the whole house was dark and cold, only getting colder, Awsten hadn't returned and he found himself unable to open the front door. This dream, this reality of his, had turned into his worst nightmare. He was utterly alone.
Jack was talking Geoff's ear off out of nerves, knowing he probably couldn't hear him, but still hoped he could.
"I finished season 5 of Game of Thrones," Jack patted Geoff's hand. "Lots of crazy shit went down that we need to fucking discuss. Zack wants me to go to Hawaii and relax for a bit, but... I won't until you come back." He smiled lightly. "Like I said... a lot to discuss..." Jack sighed and looked at Geoff's arms. The doctors had removed the bandages hiding them, and left bright pink marks visible to everyone. Jack had caught Awsten trying to cover them with Geoff's blanket, but the doctors wouldn't allow it due to his monitors.
