His smirk [Ch. 4]

Sonic POV

I knocked on tails's door. It soon opened.

"THANK YOU" i shouted and pulled the fox into a hug. He saved me from the most embarrassing situation i ever experienced and i will always be thankful.

"i owe you one" i said as i pulled away from the hug and smiled. Tails was just standing there cluelessly scratching his neck.

"huh?" he said confused. I didn't reply and went inside, dropping myself on the couch.

"you saved me with that call, but don't ask"
I said. He nodded and smiled.

"glad i could help" he laughed. I appreciated that he smothered his curiousity.
We settled to watch a movie and halfway into it tails fell asleep on the couch. I grabbed a blanket and i tuckled him with it. Then i went upstairs to my room, closed the door and dropped myself onto the bed sighting.

Shadow was so aggressive as always, but this time i liked it. He seemed like he was worrying, or was it just curiousity? He is too confusing, you could say he gives me ambiguous signs. That reminds me..my cheeks were getting warm before tails called. Was i blushing? Do i really like him? I swear my body is betraying me. It doesn't let me know the answer, but it reacts like it knows. Or..i think i know but i don't want to accept it. I did like being with him even if we were fighting or teasing each other, and i did like his company even if he was aggressive or ignored me.

After a while i started yawning so i drifted off to sleep.

I opened my eyes around 7 in the morning. I walked to the bathroom and washed my face to completely wake up-

Cough.
Cough cough.

My morning routine is doomed.

Tails POV

I went to check if sonic is up yet. I knocked but only heard the water running.

"sonic do you want to have breakfast somewhere or do i make some?" i asked, but no answer. I thought he might be showering or something so i opened the door and walked in. The bathroom's door was slightly open, i peeked in.

.

Huh.
.
.

"sonic.." .
He was standing over the sink, the blood slowly flowing down..from his nose.

If that wasn't enough, he even blankly stared into the mirror..like it wouldn't be there.

"..sonic?" i called him, but once again he did not react at all.
I...i...
I'm scared. Seeing my brother like this is overwhelming, and shocking. But the word shocking is nowhere near what i feel.
I didn't dare to touch him or get close, he was scary..i was scared. I know i shouldn't be and he probably needs me right now..but i just can't do it. We were both standing there for about 10 minutes, when he finally reacted.

Sonic POV

Suddenly i heard someone calling. I looked behind me in the mirror and saw a fox standing there with dropped ears and tails. His expression is indescribable, but close to a traumatised look.

Wait..what's happening? The last thing i remember is coughing..
I looked down and saw the acidy petals, with blood on them. Did i cough up blood again? No, i knew i did not when i saw another blood drop dropping into the sink. My head is blank..it's hard to understand anything.
