Vaggie POV:
As I was watching Charlie go over Niffty's notebook, I couldn't shake a certain feeling. I don't even know the feeling, but it unsettled me. My eyes shifted to Alastor who was still beside Charlie. I caught myself staring and looked away but before my eyes focused back on the bristol board in front of me, I thought I saw Alastor look my way. I didn't look back because I already knew we were "behind schedule" as Charlie would say. The progress Angel and Husk were making was great. They hadn't stopped talking since they started helping me, but they were getting things done so I wasn't complaining. But as the day came to a close and I looked back to Charlie, aggresivly flipping through pages and typing on her laptop, I knew she was stressed. We only had one more day left to work on this and we were just below halfway done. "Don't worry Charlie," I said. "We'll get it done." "I sure hope so!" She replied with a slight panicked tone. "Why don't we just have a slumber party/work session tonight?" Angel suggested. "Perfect Angel! But where? My parents said no sleepovers or slumber parties until after Halloween," Charlie said. "We could stay at my residence for this," Alastor chimed in. Charlie had a couple questions. "Does it have enough space?" "It has plenty. We will all be able to fit with ease." "Ok good! So we'll meet at your house for 6. What's your address?" "666 Age Street," "We'll all be there?" She asked all of us. "For sure," Angel confirmed. Niffty and Husk were already planning on spending the night at Alastors anyway. "I'll be there as well. Vaggie?" I was caught off guard a bit. I had zoned out again. "Oh, uhm..." I had concerns. I'm trying, but I just can't seem to trust Smiles, as Angel had called him once. "Uhh, yeah. Sure, I guess." I tried to hide the hesitancy in my voice but Angel I think heard it cause he had asked to talk in the hall for a bit. "You okay Vaggs? You seem really skittish around Alastor." I sighed and crossed my arms. "It's just his presence. His whole being just makes me uneasy and I don't know why," "Well, it's just like Charlie said. You can't just decide you don't trust someone- " "Well I can!" I realized I snapped and interrupted him after. "I'm sorry Angel. It's just- . I can't trust him." Instead of saying something, he replied in a hug. I wrapped my arms around him without hesitation. Angel gives really good hugs, often from his four arms. He's often the therapist in our group of three, now six. "Everything will be fine, Vaggie. Don't worry about a thing." I just gave a half hearted nod in response. I might just stay by Angels side just so I can feel normal in an unfamiliar place.Husk POV:
After Angel and Vaggie went outside, I had gone up to the stage. Plopping my head on my arms on the edge of it, starting a casual conversation, which I never do. It seems the more time I spend with Angel, the less temperamental I am. "So, how are you all doing?" I asked just to start off. "Just amazing Husk! Oh, I'm exhilarated!" Niffty replied quickly. She's always excited about everything. "I will agree with Niffty. I am fine at the moment," Alastor said. "Charlie? What about you?" She seemed distracted. "Hm? What was that?" "I just asked how you were doing," I repeated myself. "Oh, uhm. Okay. I'm doing okay." I could tell she was lying. "You sure you're okay?" Niffty asked, tilting her head. "Yeah, I'm fine," she responded, sounding somewhat more convincing, but none of us questioned further. Vaggie and Angel came back in and packed up their stuff. "Already?" Charlie asked. "Why are the days so short suddenly?" "It's just because we have something to be done," Vaggie said. Charlie looked behind her up to the screen. "One day left," she said quietly to herself. She turned back to us with a very serious and determined expression. "At Alastors house for 6! No later!" With that, she dashed off the stage, shoving everything in her bag half hazardly and running out the auditorium doors.
