(Karl POV)
Nick ended up getting along great with everyone. He seems to have a knack for that.
Alex and I drove him to the airport the next morning. He said Dream was picking him up in Florida, and he'd text me just before he took off and when he landed. I missed him before he was even gone.
The video he was in was posted, and he was an absolute hit. George tells me it got to his head back home. Apparently some people were even asking for pictures, just because of one video. It was absurd. No one comes up to me at school. Then again, I'm that kid no one notices, so... ya know.
Jimmy told me that the fans loved him, and we should try to get him in more videos, which I am all here for. Any excuse to get him out here for longer.
Alex and I have talked extensively about what we are to each other, too. He's told me he's thinking about going to Mexico for spring break, just to step back from everything and try to clear his head a bit. He hasn't seen his mom in forever too, so it'll be good for him. He's hoping it'll help him get over both me and Wilbur, and I'm hoping it too. Not just for him though, for both of us. So we've decided that, right now, we're best friends. And I'm okay with that.
(No POV)
Time passes.
Sapnap, Bad, and Dream graduate, and Karl flies in to surprise them. He comes back to Florida, Alex in tow, for summer, and he reapplies to the college everyone else is going to for his second year of college.
The summer before college is one of the best, in Sapnap's opinion. It's just him and his best friends and his boyfriend messing around for three straight months, doing whatever they want, whenever they want.
In June, Betty and Cherry announce their engagement, and they get married two months later. Sapnap is Betty's maid of honour, and Karl is Cherry's. Of course. The reception itself is beautiful, and Sapnap couldn't be happier for his mom.
When college starts back up, Sapnap and Karl agree to share a dorm room, which may not be the best idea, but Dream and George are doing it, and so are Bad and Skeppy.
Also when college starts, Alex surprises everyone by showing up there, and admits he'd applied when Karl did, and got accepted there too. But he kept it under wraps for months to see everyone's reactions.
Halfway through first semester, Karl begins talking to his friend group. They try not to act super surprised to be respectful, but they fail miserably. As the years pass, he begins to get used to talking more and more. He becomes a popular member of the MrBeast crew, and he falls back into who he used to be before his dad died.
College passes, but everyone stays friends. Ranboo, Tubbo and Tommy move to England, but keep in touch, sending random updates and photos and memes, keeping everyone's notification centers full.
Bad and Skeppy move to LA, but neither of them asks the big question, feeling no real desire to change their lives so drastically and fully commit. Yes, they love each other enough to so do, but they'd rather live like they do now; in the moment, like high schoolers in love, like they used to be.
Alex moves to LA as well, only a town over. As far as Karl knows, he finds several people he's interested in, but never acts on it, focusing on himself and his career. He lands a job at a prestigious law firm, but plans to start his own as soon as he can.
Dream proposes to George nearly the second they both cross the college graduation stage, and everyone is there, watching them exchange vows only a month later. They stay in Florida, raising a kitten named Patches like she's royalty. Dream gets a job at Apple, but they both get into streaming video games and he quits.
As for our main characters, Karl has priorities in North Carolina, and Nick has priorities in Florida. They're still very happy, of course, still calling every night and catching every flight they can. Sapnap stays with Dream and George while Karl bunks with Kris. But she eventually kicks him out upon finding a partner.
Politely, of course.
Sapnap also becomes very popular on the MrBeast channel, known widely as "Karl's boyfriend."
Like Bad and Skeppy, neither of them pop the question, but for different reasons. They have new promise rings, however, promising that one day, it will happen.
Still, the group is closer than ever, despite the distance. They try to meet up all together every year for Christmas, like Alex and Karl did all those years ago.
High school and college may be in the past, but the memories aren't. They may make more every day, but it won't matter. Because ultimately, sometimes the memories are all they have.
Sometimes all they have are two word sentences, fights near lockers, communication notebooks, secret spots in libraries, songs about love, and each other.
In the end, it's a mute boy and a basketball jock, sheets of paper spilled over the floor, and four simple words that mean the world to someone.
