Jim Raynor: Episode 2

Jim Raynor: Well... Well... I see this new fella. What's your name?

Max Zander: The name's Max Zander. Who's your friend?

Hank Harnack: I'm Hank Harnack. The guy next to me is Jim Raynor we're best buds.

Max Zander: I see. Let's play dice shall we?

Hank Harnack: Sure.

Jim Raynor meanwhile realizes the brutal effects of war.

A group of children were lying down skinny, malnourished. Feeling pity, Jim Raynor gave rations to them.

Jim Raynor: Damn I had to sacrifice my rations to starving children. My home planet could suffer the same fate. This war really isn't fun after all.

Hawkes: Alright guys I'm the corporal here! I'm going to drive some of your men to Firebase Zulu. WHat's your name pal?

Jim Raynor: The name's Raynor pal.

Hawkes: Alright Raynor you lead your troops. I'll take your men to the base.

After the truck convoy kept driving for some time. However the traffic suddenly stopped. They were ambushed. Raynor realizes he's in battle. Raynor led two squads of his men on foot; the rest went to the two trucks.

Hawkes: We're under attack! Our convoy has been ambushed by Kel-Morian Hellhounds. I repeat! We're under attack by the Kel-Morians.

Jim Raynor: Arlight's let's double time! Go, go,go!

JIm Raynor: Men, I'm Zulu 23. Kydd, Zander, and Hank find a distraction! Me and my men engine their defenses!

Ryk Kydd: Got it!

Max Zander: We're with you!

Hank Harnack: Understood.

Marine: You heard the man! Distract their bunkers!

300 newly graduated marines have just tasted combat. The Turaxis II campaign had begun.

During the battle Jim Raynor had captured some APCs. The battle is fierce as the Kel-Morian Defenses are tough to crack. Their bunkers are the killing grounds of anyone that tried to bypass them. Jim Raynor pinned down, asked for help:

Jim Raynor: Alright men! Does anyone have a way to win this battle?

Marine: Sir! If we use this side path we can get to the base that we need!

Jim Raynor: Got it. Everyone takes the side paths! The bunkers are hard to breach directly!

As the rest of his squadron took the alternate route it led to a farmhouse which gave the Confederate strategic advantage.

Max Zander: Let's take this farmhouse to ambush the Kel-Morians!

Ryk Kydd: Good thinking!

Jim Raynor: Arlight, Hank! We both charged this farmhouse together.

Hank Harnack: We're with you!

Jim Raynor and Hank Harnack with their man charged at the farmhouse taking down some APCs and more Kel-Morians.

Ryk Kydd: ALright I'll snipe this One.

Max Zander: Just hold on men! I can hear from the radio that the Kel-Morians are losing!

The battle was won but at a price. The Kel-Morains retreated and the Confederates celebrated their victory.

Captain Senko: Congrats men! We did it!

Jim Raynor: Yep we got those Kel-Morians running!

Captain Senko: However a lot of men died in the process.

Jim Raynor: Sadly that is the cost of war.

As Raynor saw the dead and injured he saw his best friend Tom Omer. Tom Omer was badly injured on one side to his chest, lungs and lost his left arm. The medics gave Omer painkillers trying to aid his injury however it wasn't enough.

Tom Omer (Whispering): Ugh... Raynor.

Jim Raynor: No!

Tom Omer: It's Ok... We won, we did it.

Jim Raynor: No , no no.

Tom Omer: One battle...that's all I was good for. Now they're probably gonna send me home.

Sadly, Tom Omer didn't make it

Jim Raynor: Nooooooo!

Jim Raynor was saddened by the loss. He starts to realize what his father warned him before: that war is not adventure as much as propaganda likes you to believe. Having lost his best friend in the war his outlook on war changed.

One week later Raynor and his men settled into Fort Howe as a new base of operations. Raynor was promoted to lance corporal for his leadership skills. However his squad is assigned to menial tasks like handling supply. In supply depot 7.

Jim Raynor: Ugh. Supply work is boring. Why can't we go out and fight again?

However, a familiar character makes an appearance and grabs Jim Raynor by his shirt:

Tychus Findlay: Dammit! I've been demoted to private and I'm ordered to get my gear by you!?

Hank Harnack points a weapon at Tychus and says: Hey! Back off man!

Tychus runs away to get his report and gets his military gear later.

However the base was runned by Lt. Colonel Javier's Vanderspool.

Javier Vanderspool: Arlight, Tough guy! Enough being a delinquent if you keep this up you'll be Neural resocialized (Equivalent to brainwashing)!

Tychus Findlay: Nah man! I want to think for myself!

Javier Vanderspool: You're right, you'll get a second chance but this time you're Sergeant! Not only that, you'll get to lead Raynor and his squad.

Tychus Findlay: Raynor?

Javier Vanderspool: The guy you limited earlier

Tychus Findlay: Great! gotta have some fun!

Jim Raynor: Shit.

As Tychus's ego was ruined by the previous fight. He was about get back at Raynor and his friends when suddenly an announcement on a loudspeaker was made:

Javier's Vanderspool: Soldiers of the Confederacy! The Kel-Morians are coming to retake their base! You know what to do!

The Battle of Fort Howe had begun. As the Kel-Morians failed to retake Fort Howe last time they tried using a different strategy: to steal two trucks full of valuable Confederate military materiel, including 8 million credits' worth of jammers, and split the proceeds.

Jim Raynor: I'm going for the armory. Wait there's Confederate marines loading civilian trucks with supplies we shall make a run for them!

Tychus Findlay: Let's do it partner!

With enough fighting they successfully capture the two trucks.

Both Jim Raynor and Tychus FIndlay took the trucks and stole their supplies.

Oleg Benson: Shit!

Tychus rifle butted Oleg to death

Tychus Findlay: Arlight Jimmy! Why don't we split up the supplies?

Jim Raynor: Sure thing!

Tychus took the supplies and hid the supplies in Whitford in a chapel.

Jim Raynor: Wait a minute!

Tychus Findlay: Yeah?

Jim Raynor: Why don't we just return one truck to them to avoid any suspicions and then we can sell the jammers that are worth 8 million credits.

Tychus Findlay: You got it!
