face claims.

okay. i said i won't do face claims and i won't. but i do want to give some advice on them.

please stop worrying that you're face claim isn't identical to some member of the family if they're related to a character on the show.

they don't have to look exactly alike.

damon and stefan don't look that much alike. neither do elena and jeremy. so many shows don't have characters that look like each other. lizzie and josie don't look anything alike in my opinion.

and genetics don't work out that way. sometimes people don't look like they're related even though they are. sometimes people will have one or two of the same features and that's it. they can have different eye colours. they can have different hair colours. you don't need to stress over it.

rebekah and kol don't have the same hair colour or eye colour.

people don't share the same characteristics just because they're related. that is not how genetics work.

it's also very subjective. some people see closer resemblances than others.

i know a lot of people tell me i look like my siblings. there's also a lot who have said we don't look alike at all.

and i'm 99.9% certain someone isn't going to stop reading your fanfic just because your oc doesn't look exactly like the family they're supposed to be in.

it's really not that big of a deal. don't stress about it.
