You again heard strange whispers and sounds around your apartment. This was the second time this week.

It wasn't a bother initially, but it greatly hurt your ears.

So you tried to ignore it by sleeping.

And guess what?

"...This is even worse." You stared at the true form of Lady Bone Demon, horrifyingly, who appeared to be gazing at you coldly. So cold that you could feel ice about freezing your heart itself.

"[L/n] [Y/n]. One move against my destiny, and you will see what happens to those who go against my destiny."

You only stared at her, scared that even if you breathed too loud, she would end you in your cheap apartment.

Thankfully, it was only a dream.

Or so you thought.

"Thank you for this amazing turnout!" The Mayor exclaimed, holding out the key high above.

You blinked, staring at the chaos in front of you.

"Woohoo! Let's hear it for Monkie Kid!! Hero of the city!" Mei threw a wooden chair randomly in excitement, breaking it into pieces.

"Uh... do we have a mayor?" Pigsy whispered to you and Mr Tang.

"Well, our previous Mayor did disappear," Mr Tang shrugged, slurping the soup from his noodle bowl.

"I thought she got kidnapped." You whispered back.

Both Mr Tang and Pigsy shrugged and paid their attention towards the Mayor.

"As Mayor, I hear by giving Monkie Kid the key to our fair city!"

The Mayor handed a strange skeleton-shaped key to Mk.

Once it was in Mk's hand, he suddenly turned blank and felt a shiver down his spine at its weird energy.

Which he chose to ignore.

MK blinked, "Umm... what does this key DO exactly?"

The Mayor stared at Mk with his blank, emotionless eyes, "Oh, you'll love this, it has the POWER to open ANYTHING!"

Mei, in excitement, looked directly at the Mayor, "Ooh, anything? Even a pet shop full of puppies?!!"

The Mayor nodded, "Yes, or a door to a lion's cage, an orphan piggy bank, an imprisoned mystic power source or whatever you like." He laughed. A bit too creepily.

He didn't do a good job of hiding his true intention.

But apparently, everyone was oblivious to it, excluding you.

"Today, you can do no wrong. You've got my permission. Cause I'm the MAYOR!!!" He cackled menacingly and disappeared into a cloud of blue smoke.

"Who even voted for him?" You deadpanned.

Mei leaned on the cheap-looking podium, "Huh, I am starting to think maybe that's not the mayor."

"Ya, think?"

MK's eyes sparkled as he stared at the key in excitement, "Wow, A key that can open anything!!"

You sweat drop, "Uhhh... you guys go ahead. It's the weekend, and I have my part-time job to do."

You slammed the door behind your apartment and sat on your knees near the Japanese-style table in the middle of the room.
