It was nearing Christmas, the camp in God's Lake Park was covered in a layer of freshly fallen snow, the lake was dressed in a sheet of shiny thick ice. The lads at the camp were offered the option of going home for the holiday season, but it was understood that with the nature of the camp, a lot of the kids weren't welcomed home. So the camp held an annual Christmas season event lasting from december first to January second. The camp officially reopened for second term on January seventh, but people were allowed back anytime. It was currently the last day of November, and people were supposed to get picked up the next day if they were going home, a few kids were packed and ready to go the rest were either crying, or watching TV. Some of the Camp instructors were getting in their cars and heading home. Others were preparing for a Christmas season at Camp, officer Grayson was staying on camp, and so were a surprising amount of the other officers. It appears they have just as much a responsibility to be at camp than the camp goers themselves.
Things weren't all cheery though, in Hiccup, Jack and Toothless's apartment, the two bigger boys were sitting with a distraught jack in their arms, "why don't they love us anymore" he all but sobbed into hiccups shoulder, "they do baby they're just struggling right now to see that" hiccup tried to reassure him, "I mean I've never met them but they seemed to really miss you guys" toothless comforted them. "How about this guys, I haven't said anything but I come from a pretty rich family, and whilst they aren't too happy to see me, they also aren't happy about camp for Christmas, they're religious and believe that I should be in a house for Christmas, so I could book the three of us a hotel nearby, a good one. And we could chill for December, take a break, that sorta thing. Only one condition though, I'd like to invite Connor, his dad is always working like every day, his mum died, and his adoptive mother, well, she doesn't ever wanna see him. I know every kid here probably has a sob story but he's different" toothless said, "okay that's cool, Is he nice or..?" Hiccup trailed off, "he's like a big kid, cute, naive, sweet" toothless listed, "oooooo" hiccup and jack teased, "oh shut up guys" toothless had a light blush dusting his usually colourless pale cheeks.
The three boys had cheered up and headed round the connors apartment block, the poor boy had to stay by himself. Toothless chapped on the heavy wooden doors. A big lad in a black superman t-shirt and fluffy superman pyjama bottoms opened the door, eyes still adjusting to the harsh lighting, hair all fluffed up and messy. "Uh hey guys; I uh- i wasn't expecting guests, is everything alright?" Conner asked in the most adorable morning voice, "yes, I'm toothless, that's Hiccup and Jack. We're in combat with you, remember me?" Toothless asked, "oh yeh you're the cute boy I was talking to- oh shit I did not mean to call you cute" Connor stammered and rambled, face going slightly red. "It's alright, so uh we were planning on booking a hotel room for December, and there is a space bed in the package and I uh, I guess I was wondering- yknow.." "he wants you to come with us and spend the Christmas month with us" hiccup interrupted, chuckling slightly. "I couldn't ask you to do that, it's be way expensive" Connor said, "you're not asking, we're offering, and it's no extra cost" jack said. "Well uh, yeh okay that'd be really great" Connor said, flashing a large smile, even pulling a blushing toothless in for a bone crushing hug. "Thanks so much guys" " don't worry about it, it's a pleasure to have you" toothless smiled back.
It was the next morning, air blue and crisp as December caressed the weather, and the four boys were all waiting at the train station, hotel booked, and cases packed. They were planning on getting a train to London, and the four of them each had a good bit of money which their parents begrudgingly sent them. Hiccups dad had sent him and jack a couple thousand, turns out their jobs had been going well enough to justify the payment. And Connor's adoptive mother was rather rich, and as much as she didn't like him, she agreed to it.
