A full deep cry rises within my throat,
Waiting to be released,
Waiting to protest against the injustice inflicted upon me,
But as soon as I open my mouth,
Nothing comes out.

They say to scream when someone does this to you,
To shriek "NO!" and run to the nearest adult,
To tell, to report, to speak,
But now as I try to yell,
The result is nothing.

My eyes widen in fear,
A silent plea of a tear running down my face,
My body has been paralyzed,
And my vocal cords have betrayed me,
Because now as I struggle to shout,
Silence ensues.

My heart thumping loudly,
Threatening to leave my chest,
The sight of his grin makes me sick,
But I can't even throw up,
Just like how I can't even yelp.

He seems to be satisfied,
He is leaving now,
Leaving me standing in terror,
But still I am unable to move,
Unable to run, unable to ask for help,
Unable to scream.
