An Ode To Laxie

A/N: I wrote this one in a Physics period (same day I wrote 'Darling, so Divine') for my seat partner/bestie. Her name starts with L and is very similar to Laxative, so that's what I've nicknamed her (Laxie for short). Although we met recently, we got close in no time. Our first ever interaction was when I was decorating the class bulletin board (the theme was 'BookFlix'- books but Netflix style) and she scornfully made comments about my cover design for It Ends With Us. Then school became online for a week because of the virus outbreak so we used to video call during the recess. Also, she had a whole Colleen Hoover phase back then.
This poem is meant to be dramatic in a funny way.

The curl of the hair which had strayed away from the others tied in the pony,
The constant raise of the arm to fix her glasses back on the undistinguishable bridge of her nose,
The look of complete disgust on her face about all things love or melancholy,
Being with her felt like standing next to a rose;
You can never be pretty enough to the lovely girl who had set up so many walls,
Just like a rose has its thorns.
Our friendhsip started through quarantined video calls,
When my choices for the class board made her scorn;
Sitting next to her in class was the biggest highlight of my day,
Her horribke jokes and wondrous poems making me smile;
To do abything, she had her own way,
To say anything, she had her own style,
She was my motive, the owner of my entire heart,
My CoHo-obsessed Laxative,
With the sense of humour of a fart <3

Bonus: Laxie wrote a poem for me back. Here it is:
