It had been about a week since Hank took me in, and everything was going back to normal. I had gotten closer with Hank and Antonio, and the whole unit as a matter of fact. And I was doing really well with quitting smoking! I was really close to giving up once but Hank helped me, and now all the withdrawals are pretty much gone! The temptations are still there though which annoys me sometimes. But I've realised I can almost ignore them. Sometimes I can anyways.

"Hurry up Dan, you're gonna be late!" Hank shouted up the stairs. I was going back to school today, and I wasn't too bothered. I was missing my partner in crime. She's called Rosa, and god is she beautiful. We're only friends though....well, maybe a bit more. But no one knows, so technically, we're still only friends. I quickly Grabbed my red flannel that Hank gave me on one of the first days and put it on over my thrasher top. It was one of my favourite items of clothing.

I franticly ran down the stairs to see my breakfast already plated up, and Hank standing by the island with his keys in his hand

I franticly ran down the stairs to see my breakfast already plated up, and Hank standing by the island with his keys in his hand.

"Lookin' good kiddo. Now hurry up." He said pointing towards the pancakes he made. I just nodded and grabbed my fork. Pancakes and syrup, with sliced bananas, will forever be my favourite food in the world. Its just the nicest combination of absolutely everything. But you will never catch me eating pancakes with bacon on or something like that. In England where I'm originally from, it was seen as something weird. And I can't lie it does seem a bit weird. sweet with savoury? Definitely not my cup of tea.

"I'm going to brush my teeth, I'll meet you in the car." I said, my mouth still stuffed with pancakes, and for the 2nd time rushing up the stairs. Hank just nodded and walked out the front door. I quickly sprayed on some of my nicest aftershave too. Hank got me it when we went shopping.

For the 3rd time!, I sprinted down the stairs. But this time I had my backpack on and I was actually ready to go. I walked outside and locked the front door behind me, thinking about seeing Rosa again. I was so excited. Trust me, you guys are gonna love her. I don't know if I should tell Hank though? It's not like she's bad or rude or anything, in fact she's really smart, and she only smokes now and again. You know what, I'll tell him another time.

"I'll pick you up after school Dani. Don't cause any trouble." He said with a smirk. I just laughed.

"You know me Hank, I'm an angel. I would never." I said walking off towards the Main entrance. Seeing an actual angel walking towards me.

"Hey gorgeous, I missed you." I said engulfing her in a hug she happily returned. She didn't let go, and just held me for a good minute. "I missed you so much." She replied while she was still hugging me. I just laughed. I wasn't planning on being early to my lessons anyway.

"Where have you been?" She asked, leaving the hug and walking next to me instead. She knew everything about my family anyway, so it's not like I had to lie to her. I just looked at her with the 'it's a long story' eyes.
