After the events of The Goku Black Arc and having lost almost everything Trunks and Mai were looking to live in a more peaceful life...but unknown to them they would be in a word almost filled to the brim with Cannibals.
Arriving in a forest located on a mountain near a town
Time: 11.00 PM
Trunks and Mai jump out of their time machine to examine the surroundings. "This is weird, the coordinates were punched in for Capsule Corp why are we in a forest?" Trunks questioned
"I don't know...it's weird here..." Mai said, "I can't even pick up my moms ki signature." Trunks stated, "There's a town down there, maybe we could ask where we are?" Mai suggested. Trunks would nod in agreement as the two started heading down the mountain as Trunks put the time machine in to a small capsule.
As they were walking down the mountain Trunks stopped in his tracks. "Trunks is something wrong?" Mai asked concerned, just then a demon comes running forward heading straight for Mai

Mai gasp out loud at the sight of the hideous monster, it jumps propelling itself forward for Mai. As it closes in Trunks comes in and hits the demon with a kick to the skull sending it crashing in to a tree.
"The hell is that thing?!" Mai asked, "I don't know but stay back this is dangerous!" Trunks said as he draws his sword out of its sheath getting in a stance.
"That hurt..." The Demon says getting up and walking back to Trunks as he notices the sword
"A demon slayer huh?" The demon said, "Im not a demon slayer but...I'm gonna stop you right here!" Trunks said still holding his guard
"Then I'll feast upon your flesh!" The demon rushes towards Trunks arm outstretched forward, Trunks cuts the demons arm fully off from the elbow, the demon howls in pain and jumps back.
"Tch...you landed a good blow there...but it's gone to vain you see this I'm already regenerating!" The demon bragged
"Regeneration huh...then I'll have to destroy you until there's nothing left!" Trunks stated as the two rushed at each other again Trunks jumps up and kicks the demon in the face and looks back at Mai signalling her to do something. Mai nods understanding what he wanted her to do as she pulls out her shotgun and fires a blast right at the demons chest.
The demon recoiled back trying to regain its footing... "HAA!" Trunks yells out slashing across its chest leaving a gashing wound. Trunks jumped back as he dodges a punch "RAAAHHHH!!! DIE YOU BASTARD!" The demon yelled out running at Trunks full speed, Trunks scoffed
As he ducks under a punch from the demon and hits it right in the gut with a punch

The demon grunted in pain 'What power?! Just who is this guy?!' The demon thought to himself, Trunks then hit him with a punch right across the face.

"Aaghhh!" The demon groaned, Trunks then hits him downward on to the ground then jumps up and gets his hands ready from a burning attack.

Trunks fired the blast as it decimated most of the demon.
Trunks lands back down still clutching his sword, "Give up it no use..." Trunks said, the demon slowly regenerates, "I'm not done!" The demon declared as it charged at Trunks who got his sword ready to damage the demon some more...

Out of nowhere the demon is decapitated by none other than; The Sound Hashira: Tengen Uzui
"Wow you did an amazing job their holding him off! I'm impressed!" Tengen said complementing Trunks, "Um thank you...uh?" "Tengen Uzui is the name." Tengen responded
"Anyways what are you guys doing up a mountain so far from civilization at night time? Your clothes look weirdly flamboyant too..." Tengen asked, "Well um..." Trunks thought 'I can't just tell him that we used a time machine he'll think we're crazy...' "Well um you see me and my friend here we are from another country and just decided to visit here and encountered that demon." Trunks said
"Huh is that so? Well if you were able to hold off a demon for that long I recommend you for the demon slayer corps!" Tengen said, "Demon Slayer corps?" Mai ask curiously, "Yes it's a big group of people who put their lives on the line to kill those man eating demons, and seeing what you two could do, you'll both be a perfect fit for the demon slayer corps!" Tengen said
"Huh? Is that so...I think I'll join!" Trunks said, "Me too!" Mai added since she had nothing else to do
"Alright that's what I like to hear!" Tengen said, "Before I leave what are your names?" Tengen ask, "Trunks and this is Mai." Trunks answered, "Ok, also here you guys might wanna head south towards Mt. Moon there are two people their who can train you in the ways of a demon slayer to make you stronger." Tengen said about to disappear, "Wait! Before you go, can you tell us the time period we're in we kinda forgot the name!" Mai asked, "Well it's called the Taisho era but with that I must go there are more demons to slay!" Tengen said as he disappeared. "TAISHO PERIOD?!" Trunks and Mai fell to the floor comedically.
With that Trunks and Mai trained for at least 1 and half years until they were ready for the final selection the two effortlessly passed and went on to become demon slayers and as of the present timeline Mai is a Kinoe while Trunks is a hashira...
