I met Gavi just a few weeks ago. My dad had asked us to go with him to a Barça event. Val's family was on holiday in Galicia and I didn't really want to go but Pedri had mentioned maybe he would be attending. I was eager to see him again.
Apart from seeing him at the team's matches he had made absolutely no attempt for us to see each other since our first encounter. Many would question why I kept a glimpse of hope and to be quite honest I'm not sure why. But if we know anything is that our hearts are stubborn. They say there is so much stubborn hope in the human heart.
I sat in the back of my parents' car next to my brother as my father drove us to the venue. I looked down at my phone only to be disappointed that there were no message from him. As soon as we went into the venue my mom and dad left my brother and I alone. I stood close to the door hoping I would see him soon.
A young man with light brown hair and light brown eyes stood next to me.
-Whoever you're waiting for is a son of a bitch for making you wait.- he said. I looked over at him and chuckled.
-I'm not- he interrupted me.
-You can't tell me you're not waiting for someone. I can see it in your face. So who is it?- he asked. -A boyfriend?-
I shook my head. -No. Just a friend but I don't think he's coming.-
He turned over to face me. -Pablo.- he said as he put his hand out to meet mine. -Sara.- Our hands met and he pulled me in placing a small kiss on my cheek. I pulled away from him and reached for my cheek.
-So you said you weren't waiting for a boyfriend but is there a boyfriend?- he asked as he raised an eyebrow. I laughed.
-Wow. You don't beat around the bush do you?- he laughed and raised his shoulders.
-You didn't answer my question.-
-No Pablo, there is no boyfriend.-
-Yet.- he said causing me to shake my head and giggle.
Pablo and I continued to talk while taking small appetizers from the waiters walking around.
-Should you be doing something other than just talking to me?- I said to him.
-I didn't really have to be here today.- he answered. -In fact, I'm glad I met you because my friend was supposed to come but I don't see him.- he said as he looked around the room.
-Just like my friend, right?- he nodded his head. -I guess we both got stood up.-
-Have you seen the view?- he asked. I followed Gavi towards the door that led to the balcony. He opened the door and I stepped outside putting my arms around myself once the cold wind hit my bare shoulders. -Here.- he said as he took his coat off and placed it over my shoulders. I smiled. -Thank you.-
We walked to the edge of the balcony and looked ahead.
-The view is breathtaking.- I said. Gavi smiled and looked at me. -Not as breathtaking as you are.- I rolled my eyes and let out a small laugh.
-You don't take me seriously, do you?-
-Pablo, you're so direct .-
-I just know what I want, Sara.- he said as he took a step and I felt his hands on my waist as he pulled me closer to him. I could feel the warmth from his body. He leaned closer to my ear and I felt his breath hit me as he whispered -Can I kiss you?-
I didn't say a word and just nodded. Gavi kissed me softly as his left hand rested on my waist and his right hand held the back of my head. I felt him smile in between kisses and I did the same.
After a few kisses he pulled back. His lips were red and his breathing got heavier. I bit my bottom lip. -Was that okay?- I said nervously. He smiled. -More than okay.-
As we stood there one in front of the other we heard the balcony door open. We both turned around only to see my father standing there.
-Sara, ready to leave?- he looked over at Gavi and raised his head to him. -Buenas Noches, Gavi.- Gavi waved at him.
-I'll be there in a second.- I said to my dad as he walked back inside. I took Gavi's coat off of me and handed it to him.
-You heard the man, I have to leave.-
Gavi stood there in front of me smiling.
-I want to see you again.- he said causing me to feel butterflies in my stomach. He took his phone out of his pants pocket and handed it to me asking for me to put my phone number in it.
I handed the phone back to him and placed a small kiss on his cheek.
-Buenas noches Pablo.- I said as I began to walk back indoors. I walked over to my family who was now saying their goodbyes. I stood there smiling and waving goodbye when I saw Gavi walk back inside. He smiled over at me and I responded the same as my family walked out of the venue.
I couldn't concentrate on anything that my parents were saying on the drive home. Eventually I closed me eyes and pretended to be asleep. As soon as we got back home I dashed to my room. I got into bed and as I was going to turn off my lamp I noticed I had a new message waiting.
G: Buenas noches Sara. Can't wait to see you again.
