Sara's POV

I felt my heart break in small pieces as the door shut in front of my eyes. Unable to move my legs for a few seconds because I swore my body was about to shatter there, in the hallway. Seconds later I found myself running out towards my car when suddenly a stranger's body hit mine.

-Disculpa.- I looked up and was met with similar brown eyes to Pedri's, a smile on his face.

-Fer.- I managed to say before he cut me off holding my body up by my arms. -Sara, what's wrong? Are you okay?- Fernando, Pedri's brother, asked with a worried look look on his face. My eyes filled with tears. -I'm fine.- I lied.

-Did you come see my brother? We are preparing dinner for my mom. She's going back home tonight. I'm sure he would love to see you.-

I shook my head. -I have to go home.-

I ran to my car and pulled out without looking if another car was coming. The tears now rolling down my face making it difficult to drive but I didn't care.

I parked near my house for a few minutes while I tried to compose myself. I didn't want my parents to see me like this and begin to ask questions. They knew everything had ended with Pablo but they didn't know much else. And I didn't know how to explain it to them. How could I explain that I hated Pedri because of the power he held with me. That I wished with all of my being that I had fallen for Pablo and not him, because Pablo made it easy. Pedri didn't.

-Hola, mi niña.- said my mom as I stepped into the house. Her and my brother, David, were sitting on the couch watching television. I sat down next to my mom and placed my head on her shoulder. She began to caress my hair with her hand.

-Where's papá?- I asked, having noticed his car wasn't home and it was already late out.

-He's picking up some stuff for tomorrow's dinner. He should be home soon.- My mom said.

-The whole team is coming over!- Said David excitedly as he turned his attention from the television to my mom and I.

-What team?- I asked as my mom giggled. -Sara, what do you mean? The team is having dinner tomorrow with us, Val and her parents should be coming as well. Did you forget?-

I closed my eyes and tried to hide my annoyance. With everything going on I had forgotten about the team dinner my dad had planned weeks ago. This usually happened once a year either at ours or Val's house, our dads taking turns to host the team. As kids it was usually not a big event, we would have dinner with the adults and retreat to our rooms but things were different now. David was excited because he could have all of his idols at home, I was dreading the night knowing both Gavi and Pedri would be here.

-Will you be fine with Pablo being here?- asked my mom. I nodded. -We're fine. Don't worry mom.-

The next day I woke up a little past noon. Slow music filling up the hallway outside of my room. My mom was preparing things around the house. I laid on my bed for a few minutes before getting out of bed and going to the restroom to freshen up. I spent the rest of the day reading and trying to figure out what to wear for the dinner. Everyone was going to be casual but I knew I couldn't just wear jeans and a shirt or my dad would kill me. Over video call Val and I ended up choosing a casual dress for me to wear. I put on a little makeup and curled my hair. While I was putting on my shoes I heard the doorbell begin to ring as the first guests arrived.

When I walked down the stairs my eyes met with Gavi's who was just coming in through the front door. He was greeting my mom. He looked over at me and smiled. I walked down slowly not sure of what my next step would be but he walked over to me and smiled. -Buenas noches, Sara.- I smiled. -Buenas noches, Pablo.- He leaned in and kissed me on either cheek and with a smile walked away. Val arrived shortly after and we sat in the living room while some of the other players arrived.
