Words were being said, but did he listen? No, why would he. He was staring at a flower as they all stood outside, waiting for the man to shut his mouth.

The people who know what day it is today would describe it as "torture." And for him too, it was described as that. Jisung wasn't fond of sports day. It always occurred on a day full of heat.

The flower in front of him, to his right, was what made him participate without complaining. The wind blew her silky hair into the air, letting those behind her smell her shampoo. Her plump, rosy lips, and long eyelashes made her breathtaking. Her slightly red cheeks made her look cute.

Jisung was staring at her. It was plainly obvious. She looked to the side as she noticed a pair of eyes on her. She smiled at her classmate as he tried not to freak out. He tried to act natural, but he was quite sure that he had failed to do so.

After the opening ceremony ended, Jisung rushed to the bleachers and sat down. She was participating in most of the competitions, so he wasn't gonna sneak away with his friends this time. He was going to cheer her on.

''Are you coming or not?'' Hyunjin asked. ''Of course he's not coming. She's there after all.'' Seungmin replied. ''Just let him be. Go if you wanna go.'' Felix defended his friend before sitting down next to him.

They both were wearing the same color shirt. Pink with a little brown bear on it. Normally, he wasn't fond of wearing uniforms, but since she was wearing the same shirt, he'd view it as a couple shirt.

''Are you gonna help me with the plan?'' he asked his blond friend as his gaze didn't leave her. Felix scoffed. ''You really are something else.'' he replied as he stood up to get the water bottles.

Jisung was willing to do anything to have small interactions with her. He was head over heels for her. It was painfully obvious if you'd ask his friends, if you'd ask him... He'd say that he was just trying to be nice instead of trying to get her attention.

As there was a little break, he and Felix followed Jisung's plan. They handed out the water bottles to the participating classmates, including her, of course.

"You did really well. Thanks to you, we might win this year." Jisung said as he handed her the water bottle. "It's the team's effort. I didn't do much." she shyly said. Her friends around her giggled at the scene in front of them.

Their homeroom teacher walked up to them. "Y/n, you'll have to do the three-legged race with someone else. Hyuk twisted his ankle." he said. He scanned the area. No one was paying attention. He looked to his left and saw Jisung. "You. You'll be doing the three-legged race with Y/n." the teacher said and then left before Jisung could even say anything at all.

"Shall we practice then?" Y/n asked him. His friend had heard the conversation and was laughing about the situation. Felix knew Jisung was too shy to be so close to her, and now they had to hold each other.

Y/n connected their feet together with the plastic band. They were just standing next to each other, but their shoulders were touching. His heart was beating faster by the second. She placed her arm around his waist. He froze for a second. "Are you comfortable with that, or is it ticklish?" she asked as she flashed him a friendly smile. "It's fine." he mumbled, but she had heard him.

He might not have noticed it, but Y/n cheeks flushed red the second he put his arm her waist. "Let's start with the connected one. So 1....2...1...2.." Y/n said as she looked at her feet. The first few steps went well. "I think we'll be able to do it." Jisung said. His cheeks were also red as she had been holding him a bit tighter.

She let go of him and loosened the rubber band so they could walk on their own again. He only let go when she was standing straight up again, in case she would've lost balance untying it. "Are you hot?" she asked as she noticed his red cheeks. Her hands quickly went onto his cheeks, checking if he was alright. He backed away. "I'll be fine after drinking some water." he said.

She nodded. "I'll see you later then. Don't be late." she said as she left to resume her break with her friends. She did look back, but he hadn't noticed that. He held one hand on his heart as he held the other one in his right cheek. Felix came up to him with a bottle of water.

"That sure seemed like fun." he said and laughed at his friend. Seungmin and Hyunjin came back. "Did we miss it?" Hyunjin asked. "Yeah, but the actual race is after the break, so you'll get another chance to see it." Felix replied. "Is he still on the same world as us?" Seungmin asked as he looked at Jisung. "No, he's on cloud 9 right now."

After a good 20 minutes of trying to calm down and hearing his friends laugh at him for his reaction, he was finally calm. Just in time to do the three-legged race with Y/n. ''Don't fall. Wouldn't leave a  good impression on her.'' Seungmin said as he patted his friend's back. Jisung just nodded.

A few seconds later, he was on the tracks next to Y/n and other participants. She connected the rubber band as she had previously done. Their hands were on the same place as before. He tried to keep his heartbeat under his control, but who was he kidding. He could never control it. Not when it involved her.

The second one of the teachers blew the whistle, they started counting their steps. Well Y/n was saying them aloud while Jisung tried to co-operate with her. Which went well for someone who was quite clumsy. Slowly but surely they walked faster, just going with the flow they had.

Before their eyes was the finish line. A pair had already finished so they weren't first. They crossed the line as second. Falling right after they pasted it. Y/n laughed as she was on the ground, next to Jisung. Their bodies still touching, faces inches away from each other.

"Are you guys okay?" their homeroom teacher asked as he walked up to the duo. Y/n sat up as Jisung stayed there, the image from just a second ago was still before his eyes. Meanwhile she had untied them and stood up.

The wind blew her silky brown hair, exposing the scent of flowers. The sun shined on her fair skin. He was staring at her and he knew that. She glanced at him and slightly bent down, holding her hand out to him. She smiled at him, showing all her beautiful white teeth.

He gladly accepted her offer and stood up. "We did really well." she said happily. She patted his hair to fix it, which made him blush. "Good luck with the rest." "Be sure to cheer for me." she joked. He smiled and nodded.
