It was Saturday. A rainy one. It was pouring outside. The four boys ran as fast as they could, in hope that they wouldn't get too wet before they arrived at their location.
Felix was the first one to be inside and held the door open for his friends. "The weather isn't on our side today." Seungmin said as they all were inside, all breathing heavily. The boss of the internet cafe walked up to them. "Here. Use these. We don't want you catching a cold." he said. The four friends came here quite often as it was the internet cafe of Seungmin's uncle.
After drying themselves up a bit, they went to sit at their usual places. Within seconds they had started the computer and had the steam login in front of them. "Which game are we gonna play?" Seungmin asked. "How about we start with some classic Fortnite?" Felix asked. "Yeah sure, why not." both Hyunjin and Jisung replied.
It was supposed to be starting with Fortnite but they never switched to something else. Suddenly someone sat down next to Jisung. He didn't look, he was too focused on the game. He was firing at a guy and he didn't want to lose.
"You're really good." a voice said. The second he recognized the voice, he turned his head to look at her. Losing the game because there were still some enemies around and he wasn't paying attention. "What are you doing here?" he asked as a smile grew on his face.
"It's an internet cafe. So ofc I'm here to play games." she replied as she started the computer. "You play games?" Jisung asked. "Jisung how did you manage t- Oh hi Y/n." Hyunjin said and looked over to his friend, to see Y/n sitting next to him. Seungmin and Felix looked as well. "Hi everyone." she politely greeted everyone and they greeted her back.
"Do you come here often?" Jisung asked. "Yeah. Well I used too. I tend to not come as much these days. Do you know the owner, he's really nice." she rambled as she logged into her account. "Yeah, the owner is Seungmin's uncle." he replied. "Really? I didn't know that." she said.
"What are you gonna play?" he asked. "I was thinking of Kart rider. It might be a bit old but it's still fun." she said and launched the game. "Can we join you?" Felix asked. Jisung looked over at his friend. Felix winked at him. Jisung wanted to let her be and stop chit-chatting but he didn't mind playing a videogame with her.
"It'd be so fun to play together." Y/n said and smiled brightly at the four friends. Her phone rang. "I'll be back in a second. Don't start without me." she said and left to pick up the phone in a less public space.
"See, I told you she would come." Seungmin said. "I thought you were joking." Hyunjin said. "Why would I be joking about such a thing when it helps in teasing Jisung?" "Fair enough but how did you even know?" "Wait. You know she would come here today?" Jisung asked after listening to the conversation between his friends. "Yeah. I saw them a couple of times and my uncle said they came here quite often." Seungmin answered Jisung's question. "Who is they?" Felix asked out of curiosity.
"Im Taehyun, Jisoo and Y/n. Sometimes Lee Hyuk joins them." Seungmin said. "Taehyun and Y/n huh. Interesting. I hope he doesn't get in the way of our friend's love." Hyunjin said. "They're just childhood friends." Jisung replied. "Childhood friends, that's what you think. What if they're childhood sweethearts?" Hyunjin asked.
"Who are childhood sweethearts?" Y/n asked as she just came back. "Taehyun and you." Hyunjin said making use of the situation to get crucial information for his friend. Somehow Jisung felt nervous about her answer. "Tae and me? Hahaha, no way. Try to not let your mind think on its own. You have some scary thoughts." she said as she laughed about his assumption. A weight was lifted from Jisung's shoulder but he tried to not make it obvious.
It was getting quite late and it was already dark outside. To make it even better: it was also pouring outside. "I think that'll be it for me today." Y/n said as she turned the computer.
The three friends had quickly come up with a plan. Seungmin left to go ask his uncle something.
A few seconds later and all five of them stood by the door. Outside, looking at how it was pouring. Seungmin suddenly pulled out a big umbrella. It would easily fit three persons. "Do you have an umbrella?" Felix asked Y/n as Jisung was receiving an umbrella from Seungmin. "Where'd you get this from?" he asked softly. "Just go with the flow." he said. "No, I don't." she replied to Hyunjin's question. "Jisung has one. How about you walk her home? Your house is about the same way anyway." Hyunjin suggested and pushed his friend closer to Y/n.
Seungmin pulled his two friends under the umbrella he was holding. "We'll get going. See you tomorrow!" Felix said as they started walking away with quite a pace.
The umbrella the two of them shared was barely enough for two persons. Jisung made sure that Y/n didn't get wet by the rain, causing his shoulder to become wet instead. Y/n noticed it when they were at a stoplight, glancing over at him. She pushed his hand a bit back. "Your shoulder is getting wet." she said. "That's okay." he said and gave her more coverage.
She sighed. Without thinking about how her heart was gonna explode by her next action, she did it anyways. She clung onto Jisung's arm, keeping him close to her. "Like this, we'll both be covered." she smiled while making eye contact with him. Jisung's heart was beating faster be the second. He took glances at her to make sure that she didn't notice it. But he didn't know that her heart was doing backflips inside. Her cheeks were even a bit red but he thought that was because it was a bit chilly.
