He had hoped that it all had been a prank and that she was just visiting the US. But that wasn't the case. Today was their graduation day and she had been gone for almost two months. She still had contact with some of her classmates here but even if Jisung and she had been close enough, he didn't dare to contact her. He couldn't, he wasn't ready to accept the fact that she might not come back any time soon.
He just sat there in his graduation gown, with his head on the table, looking out of the window, far into the distance.
He didn't know that Y/n wasn't feeling too great as well. With a seventeen-hour time difference, there wasn't a good time to call her old friends. She looked at the pictures of her class. They were at school now, getting ready for the graduation ceremony. But she wasn't there. She would graduate tomorrow from the Korean high school here in LA.
As she was in her room, she felt alone. She knew that being here was for the best, for the family she was a part of me. But she didn't feel great at all. She was excited when she saw her new house or when they went for a tour around town. She didn't like it. Her mom said it was just temporarily going to be hard for her. She would miss her friends and would need to adjust to the language and people here. It was different from Korea.
Y/n really hoped that this feeling would soon go away. Don't get her wrong, she didn't want to forget her friends. She just wanted to not feel lonely anymore. Even now, her mom was out with woman who was also Korean. Her dad was at work and well being an only child sure didn't help in this situation.
She wanted to call Jisoo but she wasn't sure if the ceremony had started yet, so she didn't do anything. She would wait for her text instead.
Having his diploma in one hand and the other a flower bouquet he walked outside of the school for the second time. His friends were outside taking pictures and he didn't want to miss out on the opportunity.
"Jisung! Over here!" Felix yelled as he saw his friend. He gently waved the flower bouquet he was holding so Jisung would notice him easily. "We waited so long for you." Hyunjin whined. "You texted me a minute ago. Don't be dramatic." he replied.
They took a few pictures together. Their parents joined as well. The friends were close so the family also became close, it just kind of happened. They were taking the last pictures when Hyuk came up to them. "Come to the classroom when you're done. We're gonna call Y/n." he said to them.
Soon after they arrived at the classroom, having said a fast goodbye to their families as Jisung wanted to call Y/n with the rest of the class.
"Everyone here? Yeah, let's call her." Jisoo said as connected her phone to the TV screen, the homeroom teacher had brought from the teacher's room. Jisoo beckoned Taehyun, Hyuk, Jisung and Felix her way so Y/n would see them the best. Jisung had to be in front next to Jisoo, she had still hope in her ship.
Y/n picked up. "Hey!" multiple classmates yelled. "Hey everyone! Is the ceremony already over? Wow Jisung, you're holding some pretty flowers. Hyuk how come you graduated? Are you sure you didn't bribe the teachers to make you pass all those exams?" Y/n talked a lot as she was excited to talk with her old classmates.
They were curious about her as well. They asked her about her high school there. Y/n had replied that it was a good school and that everyone was nice to her. She even said that she had made some new friends. But it all had been a lie. Y/n hoped that no one had noticed but both Jisoo and Jisung had noticed that something had been off about her.
Jisung was indeed happy to see her and to hear her beautiful voice but he was bothered by the fact that there was something off. He couldn't put his finger on what it was exactly but he'd find out.
"I have to go now. I'll send some pictures of me in my graduation gown tomorrow." Y/n said. A few seconds later and she had hung up. She sighed loudly, grabbing her knees and pulling them closer to her chest. She rested her head on them. She missed them, having seen them didn't help with the fact that she was trying to asjust. She fell right back into her grey cloud of negativity about the new place. She then lifted her head swiftly. ''I can get through this. I just need time.'' she mumbled and stood up. She was going to go for a walk and make a plan on how to make this work.
