Chaehyun - Walk You Home

(Bit more of an imagine chapter right here with my Kep1er bias Chaehyun, somewhat inspired by NCT Dream's Walk You Home)

(Third Person POV)

Nothing was going to Y/N's plans today, he planned out his first date with Chaehyun after he asked her out with the utmost attention to detail he could muster: meeting up at the Art Museum to look at the new exhibits, going to the park to have a picnic lunch, and then going to watch a movie in the evening before dinner at a fancy restaurant.

Unfortunately, the heavens decided to ruin every step of his day: he ended up late to the museum by half an hour because the bus decided to breakdown a mile away from his destination, making him feel very embarrassed, despite Chaehyun's insistence (coupled with her gummy smile) that it could've happened to anyone.

The Museum visit was okay, but when it came to his planned picnic lunch, it all fell apart as soon as they finished setting up to eat, it decide to rain: however, it wasn't much of a shower, in fact, it was more like that of a downpour, resulting in the two having to just pick up their valuables and run to the nearest shelter. Resulting in another bout of apologies from Y/N to Chaehyun, who maintained, once again, that it could've happened to anyone as well.

Then came the movie time, where everything seemed fine at first glance. HOWEVER, Y/N found that, early on in the movie, he was not very interested in the movie that he picked out for him and Chaehyun, despite the raving reviews he read online. It was so boring to the extent he ended up sleeping on Chaehyun's shoulder for three-quarters of the movie. Another round of apologies came about afterwards, to which Chaehyun said that she didn't really mind much about the movie. However secretly, she did find Y/N sleeping to be extremely cute.

Finally, it was time for the highlight of the day: dinner at the fancy restaurant Y/N made a reservation for. In spite of how the day panned out, he was confident that he could save his face with this. But things quickly went downhill as soon as they arrived at the restaurant: it turned out that the pipes at the restaurant have burst and flooded the place. As a result, he had to end the day soon and walk her home early.

(Y/N POV)

"I'm so sorry Chaehyun," I say, as we walk, hands intertwined, up the light slope leading up to her home "I thought today would be a good day, I had everything planned out as well. I guess it was just not my day today." I finished dejectedly.

"It's okay you know Y/N," she says, smiling at me with her bright pink hair flowing in the light spring night breeze, "It really could've happened to anyone, and remember: 'it could've been worse'." she finishes, brushing a strand of her hair out of her line of sight.

We walk in comfortable silence, she seemed to be humming a random tune of some sort, whilst I was internally panicking: what if what happened today was a turn-off to her? Would she reject any future dates?

As the dread started to fill my mind, we arrived at her home.

"I guess this is where we say goodbye Y/N," she says, turning to face me, still smiling like the radiant sun.

"Chaehyun," I say, my voice shaking slightly, "be honest with me, how was our day today?" I ask, fearing the worst.

She seemed to ponder the question slightly, before opening her mouth to reply. "Well, I'll admit nothing really went to your plan today, and we did end up not doing a few things..." she trailed off.

I braced myself for the worst... but it never came. Instead, all I felt was a soft peck on my right cheek. I turned to see Chaehyun, her cheeks now as pink as her hair, smiling shyly at me.

"But I enjoyed every last second of it Y/N, and I can't wait for our next date."
