Callista Miller

_
I was feeling happy to be back at school this morning. This is the first time my mind is not filled with bullies, stepping inside the school. All the stares, people, and crowd are present but the anxiety has left me today. Wasn't Ares a reason for this? He is.

He has occupied my mind since last night. Azaiah. Giddy. I am feeling so giddy since the moment that beautiful name filled my ears that I couldn't sleep last night and wait to meet Ares again.

Today is the chemistry project submission. I am hoping that he shows up to class today. A part of me though wants him to rest and let his wounds heal. My heart aches every time the images of those injuries flash in the head like headlights.

A slap on my back lands, making me stumble forward. Fearing a bully, I gulp. Clutching the textbook tight in my hands, I will the nervous fear to die down.

"Calli! Where's your head lost? "

Sighing in relief, that it's just Becky, not a bully, I turn around to face her.

"Don't scare me like that! I feared it was a bully. "

"Aww, sorry Calli. But I was calling you out for a minute. You didn't hear me. "

Shaking my head, I swallow the thoughts regarding Ares. Nobody needs to know about him being in my room, especially him telling me his real name. It's absolutely forbidden. My heart flutters knowing how personal and private matter this is between Ares and me. There's something that he found about me to share something of his with me. Smiling to myself, I float in happiness.

"Let's go to the class, B. "

"Yo! Did you hear about the new transfer student? He is hot! "

I shake my head in denial while we both occupy our seats in the class. All my mind could think about is Ares when the hot word registered in the brain. Hot? He is steamy! So handsome and unreachable. Nobody can compare to him. In the background, Becky continues,

"He is the talk of the whole school. Words reached me that he is rich and smart. A full package. I can't wait to see him. I swear to God, he has to be in one of my classes, Calli! "

"He will be, don't worry. "

I told her absentminded, looking out of the window. My eyes searched for the electric blues orbs. Why won't you come daily to school, Ares? I await you with bated breath. These days I can't wait to have a glimpse of you. Just once, let me see you.

"Are you even listening to me? "

Taking my eyes away from the almost empty parking lot, I glance at Becky who was giving me a glare. I don't want her to chew my head first thing in the morning. She is very firm about people listening to her talk. It nerves her when people ignore her. I fear her anger. Like God heard my prayers, Mrs. Benson entered the classroom with her classic bun and pointed black heels.

"Class, silence! "

We all greeted her morning. And Becky, fortunately, left the conversation. I was happy seeing Mrs. Benson, because of her I was saved.

"Come forward newbie, introduce yourself. "

At her words, my eyes landed on the person who I didn't notice until now standing at the door. Now I understood why Becky shifted her attention away from me to the class. It was the new transfer student. With dirty blonde hair and blue eyes, he stood tall that Mrs. Benson appeared as a midget beside him.

"Hello everyone, I am Isaac Harrison. I love music and sports. Let's all be friends. "

"Go sit wherever you want. "
