[A/N-- song for the chapter -- a thousand years.]

_
The pitter patter of the drizzling rain falling from dark grey clouds covering the sky, the air filled with a light aroma of the drenched soil from far away, the atmosphere gloomy with water mixed with mist making it difficult to see, the tapping sound of shoes against the concrete sidewalk get mixed with the sing-song of the rain. The running girl is frantic to reach the bus stop, holding an umbrella in her hands to avoid getting wet. She was in a hurry, as a result of getting up late for school.

Across the zebra cross was the bus stop as well as a boy soaking under the crying sky of around her age who seemed familiar even when she was seeing him for the first time. She sees both, but her eyes get stuck on the boy. Feeling her heart racing suddenly, she slowly crosses the road towards the other end, feeling as if she is approaching, which she has been desperate for thousands of years. Her heart cries.

The boy looks at the advancing figure of a girl towards him, his heart beats quickening with her every step towards him in unknown happiness; it was finally happening, said his heart.

Finally, she stood in front of him, her heart thudding like it did thousands of years ago when she realised her feelings for him. She instinctively covers the boy with her umbrella, not wanting the harsh rain to hit him anymore. Her heart couldn't see him in any pain or discomfort. Both of them now stood under one shed, after thousands of years. Her hands tightened around the umbrella's handle when their eyes met; a warmth flooded their body, caressing every fibre. Both felt astonished because of the new unknown feeling as if missing pieces finally fell in place. They both felt a strange, strong, unknown but familiar connection to each other.

The boy's heart swelled in warmth not with the shelter from the rain on his head but seeing the worry and concern of the girl for him, just like thousands of years ago. Said his heart.

"I am sorry, but I couldn't help myself seeing you drenching in the rain," the girl said, unsure of her strange behaviour. He is a stranger. Why do you care? Asked her confused mind. My beloved would catch a cold, answered her heart.

Both of their eyes stared at the other, seeing inside the souls which cried in joy of finally meeting each other, after several thousands of years. They both can feel the emotions in their racing hearts: desperation, relief, happiness, and love, but why, though, they don't know. They couldn't take their eyes off each other, looking unblinkingly as if they were finally able to look at each other. At last, the agonizing separation is over, meeting each other after thousands of universes, thousands of galaxies, thousands of planets, thousands of worlds, and thousands of lives later, quenching the thirst for seeing each other after thousands of years.

She, unknown to herself, took a step towards him listening to her heart. But this time, the boy also takes a step forward along with her wanting to show his love and care through his every word and every action, unlike thousands of years ago. Her heart rejoiced, seeing the boy taking steps with her. She's not alone this time.

His heart finally escaped the cage of guilt, grief, and sorrow, enclosed in its closed confinement after losing its soulmate thousands of years ago. Although he was standing under the umbrella, his heart was dancing, singing, soaking completely in the rain of love, joy, delight, and happiness as it could finally show the eternal, unexpressed, hidden love after thousands of years.

Seeing the immense, boundless, limitless, pure love for the other in their eyes, both feel overwhelmed. Words and actions couldn't describe the feelings and emotions enough that ran through their body, which were embedded for thousands of years.

Their hearts cried together in happiness. They couldn't understand why they were feeling so. It's just like a baby who doesn't know what it's crying for but the heart, just like a mother knows. How her baby is crying due to hunger, which she fulfils by feeding. Likewise, their hearts are swelling with the warmth of each other's presence after thousands of years.

"Are you waiting for something or someone?"

She asks breaking the peaceful silence, lost in the depth of his eyes. As deep as an ocean remarked her heart.

"Yes, the bus." You.

"Oh!"

She sighs in disappointment as if expecting a different answer. But her heart heard what he didn't say or wanted to say. His voice stroked the strings of her heart by how melodious it felt to her ears, soothing them. Looking ahead, she sees the bus approaching. In a gentle voice, she tells him,

"Don't worry you don't have to wait any longer." Cause we have finally met.

Finally feeling his heart at ease, looking into her eyes, voice oozing his love from the bottom of his soul, he said,

"Yes, the wait is over." Indeed, after thousands of years........................
