"I fucking hate you."
He didn't.
"Do you have any idea how worried I was?!"
Ah, Kacchan had entered his mom-mode. Izuku was just accepting it at this point, knowing there was nothing he could do except let him rage on for a few minutes. I mean, he did sneak out in the middle of the night and left his boyfriend alone in a panic, so he deserved what was coming. It didn't mean Izuku liked it, though.
"You're a fucking reckless moron! A selfish idiot!"
"And I'm yours."
"And you're mine," Katsuki hissed, still angry about it all. "I can't fucking believe you."
"I can," Shoto said, slurping from his bowl of soba. "Why did I have to be here again?"
They were in the Assembly meeting room, since not everyone was aware of what happened or the fact that Shigaraki was being held on campus. Katsuki needed a place to yell at Izuku in peace and Izuku wanted someone to be his meat shield in case Kacchan decided words alone weren't enough.
"Then fucking leave, you soba freak," Katsuki hissed. "Who the hell eats soba in the morning?!"
"Hey, don't turn this on me," Shoto said, pointing at Izuku with his chopsticks. "He's the one who went to another men's room at night."
"Oh my god, Shoto you make it sound so gross!" Izuku whined. He was starting to regret his choice of meat shield. Then again, everyone else would've probably sided with Kacchan on this from the moment the blonde opened his mouth. Yeah, Izuku was once again on the receiving end of countless lectures from his friends about how irresponsible he'd been this time around. The Assembly exists for a reason, but it's not like they had his back on this matter, now is it?
"He could've seriously hurt you," Katsuki said.
"He's wearing quirk erasure cuffs, Kacchan," Izuku sighed. "He's quirkless right now."
"So are you!"
"Actually," Izuku laughed, and oh, Kacchan was not gonna like the fact he didn't tell him this right away, "I can use Float again."
"What?"
"I can use Float again," Izuku repeated. "Also, Kacchan, I can totally beat him in quirkless combat! He's all skin and bones, you know!"
Definitely after what Toga put him through. Izuku didn't say it, but he could tell he wasn't the only one thinking it. And even if he hadn't been semi starved and drained for his blood, he'd still be a scrawny man at this point in time. Izuku could easily bust his ass in hand-to-hand combat if he wanted to. He didn't, though. Not in this timeline at least.
"You're a reckless fool," Katsuki concluded with a huff. "And I fucking hate that I ever fell in love with your self-sacrificial ass."
"You like my ass, though."
"Not the damn point, Deku!" Katsuki hissed, but Izuku could see the slight pink blush rising up to his ears. Kacchan had always been one to get flustered easily, although he used to express that feeling through anger during their teenage years.
"Is this over? Can I go now?" Shoto asked, glancing at his phone. "People are wondering where we are."
Katsuki let out another frustrated groan before he stomped over to the door and slammed it shut behind him. Izuku could hear explosions in the hallway as the ash blonde made his way back to his room, presumingly. He really angered Kacchan this time around, didn't he..? He sighed, getting up from his seat as he watched Shoto take his, now almost empty, bowl, ready to leave. He should make it up to Kacchan, show him how much he loved and appreciated him.
