Izuku was happy to return to the dorms that evening. Being on bed rest sucked, definitely when he couldn't cheese it a little bit thanks to the watchful eyes of Recovery Girl. Some people asked him whether he was okay now and what the hell was up with his quirk yesterday. This wasn't something they'd seen him do, after all, not even after the whole Blackwhip fiasco back at the licensing exam. No, that had been explained away by using the energy quirk excuse, something Izuku had been using in his old life too, before One For All was known to the public.

You see, energy based quirks were unpredictable and uncontrollable at times. They could manifest in different ways in different situations if one used the energy flow correctly. Powering up his body and making those black tendrils appear simultaneously could be explained that way, but the smoke that rose up during their training was a whole different story... That's why Izuku was happy to be whisked away by Kacchan, who successfully got everyone else to back off with one glare alone.

"Come on, I'll show you the new meeting room," he said, pulling Izuku into the elevator. "Our keycards have been updated with extra access already, so there should be no problem."

Izuku didn't know what to expect of this 'meeting room' UA had set up in their dormitory on such short notice, but he definitely didn't expect them to break out the walls between half of the girl rooms on the first floor, which weren't being used because Mineta's room was on this floor. The long wall was decorated with notes and drawings and string, all the research Izuku had done but this time more structured, giving a clearer overview of all the information. And in the middle of the room was a big meeting table, with at the end, a large screen on which several things could be projected.

And then there was Sir Nighteye, who was sitting in one of the chairs, typing away on his laptop. It took a moment for Izuku to register it, for his brain to acknowledge he was actually there. He matched the room perfectly, looking like he belonged, but at the same time Izuku could've never imagined him in this setting before this. What was he doing here..?

"Oh, you've arrived, good," Sir said, looking up and pushing his glasses back a bit. "I've been informed that you need your rest, so I'll keep it brief. I've looked through Overhaul's underground business and his history and connections with others over the years. One name came up quite a lot in the records of the past few months: Jikan."

Izuku's eyes widened. So that's what this was all about, the connection between Jikan and the yakuza. They could prove it now. They had the evidence necessary to prove they're messing around with Eri's quirk! With this, they could get a real investigation going, they could be backed up by the commission, they-

"The paper trail is messy and will require some time to properly sort through, but I'm willing to invest my time into this case," Sir continued. "I owe them that much, since I wouldn't be alive right now if it weren't for Jikan's interference with the original timeline."

"I-I... That's..." Izuku breathed, still wrapping his head around it all. "That's great! I... I can't thank you enough, Sir."

"It's quite alright," Sir said, closing his laptop and getting up from his seat. "I'll contact All Might or Eraserhead when I have new information. Now, rest up, we have a long road ahead of us."

"I thought you were staying for the meeting later?" Katsuki asked.

"Can't. The agency called, I'm needed at our headquarters," Sir explained, picking up his things as he spoke. They said their goodbyes when he left the room, leaving Izuku and Katsuki alone in the new meeting area.

"What meeting later?" Izuku asked. He wasn't aware that the Assembly was meeting today. There had been no communication in the group chat as far as he'd seen, and he'd been on his phone all the time back in the nurse's office. There wasn't much else he could do to pass the time.
