I walk in through the doors of school, excited that it was finally the last day of school, and I meet up with my best friend Jenna. We have been inseparable since sixth grade.
"Hey!" She said whipping her head around to face me
"Ready for the last day of school!" I said excitedly "hey, want to come over to my house after school so we can party?"
"I would love to!" She squealed excitedly
The bell rang, and we skipped down the hall, arm-in-arm into our first class, language.
Later at lunch, we talked about what we were doing during summer vacation and how we were super excited for high school. And not to mention Jenna's birthday bash.
And finally, last period finally arrived and ended. After saying good bye to my friends, I got on the bus and claimed my spot. I watched the fields of grass sway in the breeze as the bus raced by, and how the trees almost seemed to wave good bye in the wind. I couldn't help but think 'high school isn't too far away. What are the teachers going to be like? What about the students? Are there going to be bullies? Snobby rich girls?'. Thinking about my future suddenly guided me to thinking about my past. Why weren't there any hospital photos when I was born? What hospital was I born in? What was my childhood like as a baby? Why didn't my parents want to talk about it? I sighed and grabbed my favourite book and started to read.

I dashed off the bus and through the giant door of my house. "I'm home!" I called out to my mother and father, hoping they weren't home so I could raid the pantry. Unfortunately my mother was sitting on the couch, with a serious look on her face. "Uh oh" I said softly, I hadn't done anything wrong... I think.
"Honey, we need to talk" My mom said softly, almost in a whisper
"Mom, I know what you are thinking, and I don't think I need to have 'The Talk'"
"No, no. It's not that" she looked down, tears coming out
"Mom, mom. It's ok" I said, rubbing her shoulders for comfort "what do you need to tell me?"
My mom looked up, tears slowly stopping "I think it's time for you to know. You are...."
"Yes, go on mother, I am what?" My eyes wide with eager.
Mother took a deep breath "You are adopted"
