"Langa!!" A voice called from downstairs.
Langa wiggled in his comfy bed, and then settled back down.
"Honey, I made pancakes!" The voice called again, taunting the sleepyhead to wake up.
Hearing something about pancakes, Langa finally sat up in his bed and stretched. He was completely exhausted after last night. He and Reki had unintentionally stayed out skating until four in the morning. He groaned aloud as he thought about how annoying today was going to be due to that.
"Langa, I'm heading out to work now! If you're not up within the next ten minutes, no sleepovers with Reki for the whole week!" His very persistent mother screamed, closing the door rather aggressively.
Even thought she had already left, Langa muttered aloud, "I'm coming, jeez. "
Langa stepped out of his room, still in his pajamas and waddled downstairs sleepily. He absentmindedly grabbed a bowl and poured himself cereal. He was just sitting at the table by himself, eating his cereal when he heard a knock and accidentally spat out his milk and cereal. He stared at it for a second, thinking how it kinda looked like vomit. But then he started choking on a piece of cereal so he ran over to fill up a glass of water. The glass was filled up only halfway when there was another knock. So impatient.
Langa took a sip of water and then jogged over to the door, opening it. As soon as he did, his heart skipped a beat and he smiled broadly. The redhead standing in the doorway wore a similar expression. Langa was ecstatic to see him, but then he got confused as to why Reki was here."Hi?" Langa said, unsure if Reki needed anything. He looked fine, but Langa didn't want to take any chances.
The goofy redead didn't even explain anything, he just yelled, "Let's go!" With a terrifying amount of energy.
"Uh- wha- where?" Langa was confused beyond imagination.
Reki gave him a look like that should be completely obvious and he thought Langa was joking, but he responded anyway with, "Beach day. Duh."
Then realization came crashing down on Langa. They had a beach day planned, but there was confusion as to whether they would actually be able to do it because of school. (All their weekends were booked.) Apparently Reki had decided on a date without telling the other party. "Oh, you probably could've told me we were actually doing that."
Reki's eyes widened. "What? I could have sworn that we talked about it last night while we were skating!"
Langa was even more confused. He thought back on the stuff they had talked about last night, and that wasn't one of the things that popped up in his head. Reki appeared to be deep in thought as well until he finally jumped up a bit and stated loudly, "Well, I'm here now so get your stuff and let's go!"
"Fine, fine," Langa motioned for Reki to follow him inside.
Having been to Langa's house so many times to the point where he practically lived there, Reki set his stuff down near the entrance and grabbed snacks for them to share.
Langa was already upstairs in his room changing when the door flew open and Reki walked in with a random box of crackers. He just stood there staring at Langa for a second, until his eyes widened and he frantically looked anywhere in the room but at Langa. "Uh- I- sorry!" Reki stumbled across his words until he whipped around, slamming the door and leaving Langa standing there half naked in complete shock.
He had his boxers on still, but having your hopefully future boyfriend see you half-naked is really traumatic.
He freaked out for a few minutes until he realized that Reki was waiting for him to get done so they could go to the beach.
Once Langa had finished packing his things for their beach day, he headed downstairs.
Reki was sitting at the table, on his phone, eating crackers. When he noticed Langa, his face lit up and then he seemed to get shy so he lowered his eyes and tried to play it off like his mood hadn't changed from bored to completely in love, at first sight of Langa.
"You ready to go?" He asked, excited again.
Langa smiled at him. "Yeah."
