We had chosen a maroon dress, with lacing at the top, going down my arms and stopping at my elbows, with a thin black belt added in the middle. By "we" I mean, Candice and me.
"You have to wear heels with that dress, Ally! Sneakers won't go with it!" Candice protested, spinning my desk chair.
"Sneakers go with everything! I don't care, I'll do makeup and all that, but not heels." I defended, crossing my arms on my chest.
"Fine. But I'm going to go all out with your makeup and hair. I'm going to make Shawn gape at you all night." She bragged, smirking.
I smirked back triumphantly. I took the dress and went into the bathroom to change, Candice gathered all the makeup and hair products.
I changed into the dress and looked in the mirror. I pulled the dress down a little so it covered my knees but when I stood straight again, it went back up.
I bunched up my clothes and left the bathroom.
"Oh my gosh! You look so pretty!" Candice squealed, jumping off my bed and running to me.
"Alright, so do you want me to straighten your hair?" Candice asked, leading me to the dresser, which had been cramped with everything.
"Do whatever, as long as I look pretty and am comfortable, I'm okay." I replied, sitting down and facing the mirror.
It took an hour for Candice to do my hair and makeup, I looked one last time in the mirror.
My hair was straightened and had a little braid that Candice had pinned up. She had put maroon eye shadow with black eyeliner and mascara, my lips were coated in pink lip gloss and shone. I went to my sneakers but they were missing, replaced with black heels.
"Mom? Where are my sneakers?" I asked, searching through the shoes.
"Oh honey, you aren't going to be wearing your sneakers." My mom called in a calm voice.
Urgh! I wish my mom wasn't so demanding. I grabbed the black pumps and shoved my feet in. I wobbled a bit but took tiny steps to my mom.
"You look beautiful, sweetheart. Thank you so much Candice." my mom said gratefully, smiling graciously at Candice who smiled back.
"I can't walk in these. They're already making my feet hurt!" I complained.
"Just deal with it, Alyssa." My mom told me strictly, daring me to talk back.
I grumbled and wobbled out the front door. I felt my mom shut the door behind her and walked beside me, our heels click-clacking on the pavement.
My dad was already there because he went with Shawn's dad after work. I grimaced at the thought of Shawn drawing the embarrassing picture. Gosh, I hated him. You would think someone couldn't just hate someone in two days, but let me tell you, it can happen. Especially if the person is a jerk or a butthole. I looked up and saw that we were in front of a cute and cozy looking house.
The house was two stories high, with all the lights on the top floor off. The door opened and a beautiful woman came into view. She had a black sparkle dress on which reached just above her knees. She smiled warmly and her eyes sparkled when she looked at me.
I didn't think eyes could actually sparkle, she let us inside.
"Hi, I'm Dana. Dana Roberts." My mom introduced, smiling warmly at the couple. Dad appeared from behind them and kissed mom's forehead.
Then a little girl and boy jumped over the sofas and ran up to me. They both had blond hair like their mother and then pushed each other out of the way so they could meet me.
