It was Thursday. Second day of Bridgestone high.

"The sun goes down, the stars come up.." My alarm went off playing glad you came by wanted.
I got off the bed and dragged my feet to the bathroom. After I took a shower I went into my closet. I decided on jeans, a black and grey checkered shirt, and my black converse. I put light makeup, mascara, and lipgloss. I disconnected the charger and texted Candice.

Me: see u in study hall :)
After that I headed to the kitchen. I ate some cocoa puffs and then grabbed my bag and headed out.
I put in my earphones and walked down the street, kicking rocks in my way.

When I reached the bus stop I saw Shawn standing there mumbling something with earphones in his ears. He wore a black sweatshirt with jeans and black tennis shoes. His hair was spiked a the front.

"Hello, Alyssa" he greeted. I nodded in response and stared at my phone. Just then the bus arrived and I claimed aboard, Shawn following me. I was given dirty looks by some girls. I sat in the fifth row and Shawn scooted next to me, winking at some of the girls, making them giggle. I rolled my eyes and faced the window, looking at the passing trees and buildings.

"So, what made you move here?" He asked, looking at me.

"None of your business." I answered, still looking out the window. With that he shut up and we didn't talk the rest of the way there.

I entered the study hall and searched for Candice. I found her sitting on our usual table, with a girl across from her. I walked over to them and slipped into the seat next to Candice.

"Oh, hey Ali. This is my best friend, Naomi." She greeted, gesturing to the girl in front of us. Naomi had blond curls that reached the middle of her back. She wore slight makeup but not too much. She had on some dark jean shorts with a violet t-shirt that had flowers on it.

"Nice to meet you, Alyssa." She greeted, I guess Candice told her my actual name.

"You too, Naomi." I replied with a smile. Wait, didn't Candice say that she didn't have any friends and her best friend moved? I'll just ask her later.

We talked and laughed and I told the two of them about Shawn being my neighbor. Naomi freaked out, like literally freaked out.

"What?! You are so freaking lucky!" She exclaimed, slamming her palms on the table.

"How? He's really annoying, a jerk, and all the bad things." I protested, I really didn't see what she was freaking out about.

"Well, that's true, but do you guys talk?" She asked, slamming her hands again.

"Yeah. He sat next to me in the bus and asked me stupid questions." I answered, glancing at Candice who was looking behind me, with an annoyed expression. I looked back at Naomi to see the same expression on her face. I looked where they were looking to see a blonde girl standing with two other girls behind her.

"Hello, you're the new girl right?" The blonde asked. It took me a few seconds to process that she was asking me.

"Um..yeah. My name's Alyssa." I greeted, biting my lip. She looked really intimidating. She nodded and took the seat beside me, her friends standing beside her, staring me down. Her face was covered with makeup. I looked around and saw Shawn watching, smirking in amusement. That loser!

See, I don't get why Naomi was acting like that. I mean he isn't some prize, or that amazing. Sure he's popular, but other than that, he's freaking annoying.

"Hey, pay attention, I'm talking to you. Okay, so are you a nerd, geek, cool, or normal?" She asked me, emphasizing normal. Her face all business. I looked back at her and she stared back at me.
