Chapter 12/ Questioning Loyalty

"Damnit- Higuchi the back up plan now!" Akutagawa said again, his tone unreadable, causing anxiety to rise in you.

"But sir- they-"

"I SAID NOW!" Akutagawa shouted, his voice sounding stressed and harsh.

You were confused as to what he ordered her to do, and especially why she was stalling to do it.

Though you quickly found out when you were suddenly on the ground.

Your eyes widening in pain at the fact a bullet was now fresh through your right leg. Smoke coming from the barrel of Higuchi's gun.

You didn't even realize it happened until you were screaming in pain, blood flowing from your leg onto the cement floor.

Why? What happened? The back up plan? How was this a fucking backup plan?! You thought to yourself, your heart beating quicker by the second.

Your own team member shot you at the orders of another, it didn't make sense at all.

While you were looking around in a panic you caught the real tiger freeze mid attack, unsure as to what happened either.

"Look tiger, like I said before you do nothing but get people around you hurt, your karma causes harm to all those who set foot near you. Even the ones who are SUPPOSED to be on the enemy side." Akutagawa started to speak, his expression and voice still unreadable to you.

Why, just why did he do this? You thought, those words repeating over and over in your head.

The tiger stood down, hesitating on what step to take next. The shock of you getting hit by your own team and Akutagawa's words causing him to stall.

You could tell he was hurt, that he's convinced Akutagawa's words are true. That he believed you got hurt because of him instead of Akutagawa.

"So stand down jinko, and you'll stop being the reason people die."

And just like that, just those simple words coming from Akutagawa's mouth triggered the tiger. A flash of white passing you to get to Akutagawa before suddenly another voice chimed in.

"That's enough now, cut it out." The new voice said, your eyes falling over the familiar image of Dazai. His arms were outstretched to touch both the two men.

And just like that everything stopped, Dazai's ability activating on the two.

The tiger was now Atsushi again, his body now passed out on the ground from the lack of energy. After being in such a state you didn't blame him.

On the other hand Akutagawa's Roshumon was out of commission, his eyes wide as he realized who was in front of him.

"You're one of those detectives. Why are you here?" Higuchi said, her eyes wide in shock.

You too trying to process the situation, like how he knew to come here.

And why your own team shot you in the leg.

"I'm the type of guy who can't stop thinking what such a beautiful lady might be up to. So I decided to listen in." Dazai said, his gaze falling over her as he spoke. His hand coming up to reveal a small radio device.

"You had already seen through my plan, even then?" Higuchi said, pulling a device out of her pocket as well, looking at it in shock.

Though to no surprise Dazai wasn't paying attention, having already moved to the boys side as he lightly tapped the man's face. "Come on Atsushi wake up, I don't wanna carry 3 people back all by myselfff." He pleaded a hint of a groan in his voice.
