28- Reasons found, culprits found

Lucifer's pov

Finding my Anna in this condition made me see red and my rage got out of control. I punched constantly until it started looking blue and blood started oozing out of his nose and lips. Someone pulled me and I took deep breaths while he was being taken to the jail by policemen. I ran and hugged my Anna tightly. I was at office when I got a call from police station, they wanted me to visit urgently. I forgot to inform Anna and my phone was on silent.

After reaching there the police informed we have got a clue on where Anna's guardian family are hiding. Before we discuss further police got a call from my brother informing Anna's situation. We left for the location and soon Alex got a call from Anna which he connected to us. We heard the whole conversation and recognised the voice too. I never thought this was the reason behind my sister's death. We would have still loved her the same but maybe she was little and scared to take a step so she gave up.

I hate to accept I was never there to listen her but I'm glad we saved Anna and didn't let the past repeat. Alex patted my shoulder and broke my chain of thoughts, "we have to take her to the police station they need to record her statement." I nodded and pulled away from Anna to hold her face and make sure if she is ready for this. She understood my unasked question and started walking towards the door pulling me with herself. I'm amazed at her courage and my love for her increases every day.

We drove to the police station and she repeated all the events from the very start. As a proof Alex shared the recorded phone call. The case is clear and I don't think he have anything against us to win the case. We need to share this with our family so we headed towards mom and dad's place. I was on the verge of crying but held Anna, she needs me more right now. She turned my way and whispered, "you can cry Lucy, the reason is finally out" and that was enough for me to hug her and cry like a baby.

Mom and dad already knew about the text Anna sent to Bella and Alex because Bella came here and informed the situation. Rihanna and Tyler were on their way but we stopped them and called them here itself. Soon we got seated and they both joined us too. I and Anna had no strength to explain what happened today so Alex took the lead. Bella and Rihanna hugged Anna to comfort her while I hugged Tyler. He used to love my sister and wanted a future with her but didn't get the chance to propose her.

He left after a few minutes and Rihanna followed him out after promising Anna that she will visit again. All of us cried for sometime and decided to take some rest because tomorrow we need to attend the case at eleven am. Tomorrow will decide his faith and we all will finally get a closure about Aurora's death. I and Alex occupied our old rooms from when we used to stay here. Anna hugged me tight and slept in a while. I however had a sleepless night.

Around 5 I got up and used the restroom. On deciding a coffee will help me right now I kissed Anna's head and left for the kitchen. Surprisingly mom was there too, with red puffy eyes and a cup of coffee. I pulled out a stool beside her and flinched before turning my way. "You are up so early? Do you want coffee too?" I replied with a "yes please." She made it while we both were lost in our own thoughts. While sipping our coffees we enjoyed the silence.

Mom whispered after few minutes, "so many years passed without her beside us, so many years of living her absense without knowing the reason. And when we get to know the reason, its my own close cousin. I recall some days when she used to casually point out how men nowadays are not trustworthy. My daughter was going through hell and my most trusted cousin was the one behind it all. I regret not being close enough to both of them if I had, I would have heard my daughter's unsaid words and my cousin's evil intentions."

She started sobbing while she narrated what she is going through right now. We all our going through the pain of our dead family member but she is feeling the pain of betrayal as well. None of us ever thought that asshole would be behind this. I rubbed her back and held her tight as she cried. Some days are so tough I just hope they pass soon. A few minutes later mom stopped crying and we got up to retire back to our beds for few hours of sleep before the hearing.

Anna woke me up by 10 after getting ready and I hurried up too as we need to have some breakfast before leaving. We had some toasts and fruits before leaving for the court. I didn't had my car so I, Anna, Bella and Alex traveled in Alex's car and mom dad joined us there in their own car.

The decision was made soon and we won the case. The judge saw the given proofs and took Anna's statements before announcing his punishment as life imprisonment. My heart is finally at peace. Our Aurora recieved justice. We can't get her back but I hope she is happy wherever she is and knows that we all will keep loving her. Her death was caused because of a monster who snatched her innocence and purity. I'm glad it didn't happen to Anna.

We hugged each other and Alex dropped us home before picking his kids up from their friend's house. We get in and changed our clothes being in no mood to eat. We decided on few hours of sleep before dinner. We were searching Anna's missing guardian family but instead got another mystery solved. It came as a shock, god knows when and how will everything be back to normal. With hope and wishes in my heart I cuddled Anna to sleep.
