Brooke's POV
I slipped on my black converse and looked in the mirror. I wore grey leggings and a sweatshirt with no hood. My hair was up in a messy bun and and my glasses were awkwardly propped up on my nose. I sighed. My contacts had gotten lost at Amity's house so until my new ones came in the mail, I had to wear my old glasses. They were square rimmed Ray Bans that made me look nerdy. I smoothed down the crease in my sweatshirt and walked downstairs, my shoes slapping the ground. When I walked in the kitchen, Amity was propped up on the counter eating an apple and talking to Callum, who was leaning against the wall. Yup. She was talking to Callum.
"Hey Erkle!" Amity laughed and I remembered my glasses.
I slowly walked over to them. "What are you doing here?" I grabbed a cup of yogurt from the fridge.
Callum pushed himself off the wall and walked over to me, grabbing my elbow and giving me a quick kiss. He gestured to Amity as I pealed open my cherry Greek yogurt.
"She is trying to tell me that your favorite color is blue, when I know it's clearly green." I rolled my eyes playfully as I chewed a chunk of cherry.
"It actually is blue," I repressed a laugh and sat down on the counter next to Amity.
She stuck out her tongue. "Told you."
Callum opened his mouth to make a snark reply but I interrupted him.
"Anyways, what I meant was why are you here on a Monday morning?" I took another spoonful of my yogurt.
"We wanted to drive you to school." Callum smiled.
I swallowed the last of the Yogurt and threw it away, brushing my hands off on my pants. "I have a car." I grabbed my back pack.
"Shut up and be thankful." Amity tossed her apple core at Callum.
I rolled my eyes and chuckled, swinging my bag over my shoulder and heading out the door. As they followed close behind I heard Callum throw the apple core back at her. She squealed and warned Callum that she would stab him in the throat.
"If you aren't gonna play nice then you aren't playing fair." I laughed and Callum ran to catch up to me.
"Your glasses are fucking adorable." Callum leaned in and kissed my cheek, nibbling at my ear. I shrugged my shoulder to get him to move.
"Thanks," I squeaked. He drove me nuts.
He was so personable I just loved him to death.
Amity clucked her tongue as she opened the passenger door. Callum slid into the drivers seat, unaware that Amity was speaking to him.
She cleared her throat. "Hey jackass I am talking to you."
He rubbed the back of his neck, clearly embarrassed. Ever since I found out Amity and him didn't get along, I have been encouraging him to try harder to be nice to her, even if she doesn't. Amity just isn't the type of person who tries to be nice to someone she despises. Callum looked up at her, his eyes darting around the car trying to find anyplace to look besides Amity. His eyes glanced over me and I gave him a reassuring smile from the back seat.
"Sorry..." He said as he grip tightened on the steering wheel.
Amity tried to smile but ended up giving in and rolling her eyes. "Well, I was trying to tell you to let Brooke drive." She folded her arms tightly over her chest.
