Brooke's POV
At the end of the day, Amity and I decided to walk home together. It was a Friday so I was just planning on hanging out with her. That's when I remembered what Callum had said.
"Hey, Am, today Callum told me-"
She stopped walking. Her face lit up. "Callum talked to you today?"
"What? Oh yeah anyways-"
She stopped again. "No wait. Callum Tiphniel talked to you?! Oh my gosh!!!"
She squealed and I dragged her along.
"Amity listen! He said he would see me at the beach tonight. Do you know anything about that?"
She scrunched her nose. "Um... Yeah I forgot to tell you. Jasper asked me to go to the beach tonight and I didn't want to be alone so.... I told him you would come and he set you and Callum up on a date." She bit her lip.
"You what?!" I screamed in her face. "That's unacceptable Amity! You know what, I can't believe you would that!"
She rolled her eyes. "Ugh! I'm just trying to make sure you don't end up alone for the rest of your life!"
I looked at her. "I won't be." I lowered my voice. "I'm a senior too Amity. I can take care of myself."
I started walking away and when she didn't follow I started wondering what was going to happen between us.
******************
When I got home, I ran upstairs and fell down on my bed. I screamed into the pillow and just lied there like a potato for about 20 minutes. That's when I decided I needed food. I put on some sweatpants, a tank top, and slippers and walked downstairs with my hair in a messy bun. I decided to try and forget the fight I had with Amity and started to make some popcorn when the front door opened and my dog bounded in, running strait at me. I squealed and ran into the living room, jumping on the couch. My family has two dogs. One is mine and one is my sisters. My sister has a tiny little West Highland White Terrier who is so annoying and Yappy. I, on the Other hand, have a Great Dane who is way over protective of me. That's who was chasing me through the house. He had been with my dad on a walk.
"Ace," I squeaked. "Get down!"
He slowly backed away and sat in front of me.
"Good boy!" I patted his head and gave him a kiss.
As I walked back into the kitchen to get my food, my dad walked in.
"Hi sweetheart." He said
"Hi dad," I started to walking past him. "I'm going upstairs to watch Netflix. I'll be down in a bit."
He just nodded and I bounded up the steps, Ace close behind me. After about 30 minutes of watching season 8 of Supernatural for the second time, my phone rang. I groaned and put down my popcorn, Ace reaching for a bite.
"Hello?" I didn't bother checking who it was.
"Brooke hey," Amity sounded out of breath and panicky. "I need you to be outside your house in 20 minutes. It's an emergency. Please, I need you."
I sat up strait. "Ok, ok but this doesn't mean we're not still fighting."
She hung up.
I sighed and got out of bed. As I picked out some clothes; a blue crop top and some jeans, Ace sat there and watched me.
I laughed. "Like what you see, Acey boy?" He just panted and sat there like an idiot. "I've taught you well." I smiled and gave him another kiss.
Then I slipped on my black converse and cleaned up a bit, putting on makeup and fixing my hair so it dangled down my back in a French braid. I opened my door and quietly walked down the stairs.
"Brooke, where are you going," asked my dad as I grabbed a sweatshirt.
"Oh um..." I decided to just tell him. "Amity is having an emergency and said she needed me. I might be a while."
He sighed. "Ok but be careful sweetheart and be home in time for dinner; it already 6:00 and your mother wants to eat by 8:00 tonight."
"Ok dad. Thanks. I'll see you later."
I opened the door and walked out. I realized how dark it was already. That's when someone grabbed my hand and pushed my into their car.
