Chapter three Its not awkward

I started screaming. "Shit! Holy shit! What the hell! Someone help me!"

I felt a hand over my mouth and a light turned on.

"Amity?! What the hell! You jerk!" I hit her on the arm.

"Calm down! I couldn't get you to say yes unless you were locked in my car."

I frowned and grabbed the door handle. It wouldn't open.

"Amity what the hell-"

She put up her hands. "Just listen to me. I need you to come to the beach. I can't go alone. I'll mess up everything. I don't mean what I said earlier. Of course you will find someone and it doesn't have to be Callum."

I smiled a little. "Amity, thank you. But I still don't wanna go. I know you can do this by yourself. You're perfect. I know you can do it."

She started to cry a little.

"Amity stop... I.... Oh my god." I threw up my hands. "Fine! I'll go!"

She stopped and smiled, starting the car. "Let's go."

I groaned.

When we got to the beach it was practically pitch black except for a small bonfire burning by the shore. The stars twinkled above as we walked across the sand and over to two shadowy figures sitting by the fire. Amity walked over to Jasper and sat on his lap. I sat across from Callum.

"Hey." He smiled.

"Hi." I didn't look at him.

Suddenly I heard Amity giggling like a little girl. She had her hand on Jaspers chest and was leaning in.

"Hey Jasp, you two want a room?" Asked Callum.

"No man, we're good."

I rolled my eyes.

"You sure do do that a lot don't you." I looked up and Callum had his eyebrow raised at me.

"Do what?"

He smirked. "Roll your eyes." He ran his hand through his hair.

I shivered. "Yeah I guess."

He looked around and got up. He walked over and sat down right beside me. "Can I tell you a secret?" He asked.

"No but I bet you'll tell me anyways."

He smiled and leaned in, whispering, "I think you're kinda cute." He said it so seductively that my breathing hitched and I had to look away.

"Well I-"

Amity interrupted. "Are you two gonna sit there all night and babble or are you gonna come swim with us?"

Callum looked at me and stood up, holding his hand out to help me up. I rolled my eyes and grabbed his hand. We started to walk over to the water and that's when I realized our fingers were still intertwined. I snatched away my hand and looked at him. Oh god was he hot. How could I not be turned on by that boy. He was practically to charming for his own good.

When we got to the shore line Jasper and Amity were already in the water, wearing nothing but there under clothes. Callum winked at me and took of his shirt, shoes, socks and jeans. He was just in his boxers. Oh shit. He had a fucking six pack. I froze. I couldn't stop staring at him.

"Hey Brooke are you just gonna stare at me all night?" His voice broke into my thoughts.

"What? Oh uh... No sorry I was just um..."

He smirked. "It's ok. If you want me just ask."

He then ran and jumped into the water. I squealed and backed up.

"Come on! It's really nice!" He shook the water out of his hair and I sighed. Shit. I got nothing left. I couldn't take it anymore and it hadn't even been a day. I was screwed. So the best thing I thought I could do was get in the water. I peeled off my shirt and jeans uncomfortably and ran into the water. I pushed the hair out of my face and Callum smiled at me.

"Hey, I'm sorry I came on so strong yesterday. I suck at getting girls if I really like them." He admitted.

"Um... It's ok." I smiled slightly and I felt a hand slip into place on my hip. I was pulled up against Callum and I felt uncomfortable. This was happening to quick. "Callum. Please stop."

His hand immediately fell away and he backed up. "Sorry." He rubbed the back of his neck.

I smiled slightly and started to make my way out of the water. I pulled on my shirt and put my jeans by the fire while I dried off. I sat away from everyone after they got out and just listened to the water. I looked at the stars. Suddenly I felt a hand touch mine and I looked over to find Callum sitting next to me.

"Brooke, do you know where the North Star is?" He asked.

I was to shocked to answer. He actually knew about this kind of stuff. I thought he was just some bad boy.

I cleared my throat. "No."

He pointed to it and smiled so innocently.

"Slaves used to look at it as they were escaping. It would help them find there way." He whispered.

"Callum," I turned to him. "Why did you really just start talking to me. You've know me for so long and now all of the sudden you have some huge interest in me. Why?"

He grinned. "Maybe your just interesting."

He held my hand and we just sat there. Looking at the stars.

"This isn't awkward. Right?" He asked.

"No," I laughed. "This isn't awkward at all."

And I meant it.
