*Ok so I know this is like 2 months late but I hope you all understand that with school and family issues I have had no time to write at all. So I hope you all enjoy this chapter because I thought I owed it to you to update. The two pictures are of Brooke's and Amity's New Years Eve dresses. Brooke's dress is on the left and Amity's is on the right. The models do NOT represent what the girls look like.*
Brooke's POV
"Brooke, wake up. There is um... Someone waiting by your front door and your mom is about to let them in." Amity shook my shoulder.
"What are you talking about I'm sleeping." I said groggily.
"It's Christmas and your adorable boyfriend is here to give you your present, so get up and get ready because you look like shit."
My eyes flicked open and I shot up. "Callum is here? Holy shit." I stood up tiredly and ran over to my closet. I grabbed the first out fit I could find and ran into the bathroom to get ready. I came out with a messy bun, wearing a maroon sweater and some really cute winter sweat pants.
"Ohhhhh... I see... You're going for the adorable, "just woke up on Christmas morning" look. It really works for you, you look indie." Amity stood up and gave my a thumbs up. She brushed off her legs and said, "we better head down before he thinks you don't want to see him."
"I don't," I mumbled nervously.
As I was halfway down the stairs, I saw Callum standing in the door, talking to my mom.
He saw me and stopped, smiling. "Well hi, Brooke-heart."
"Hi Callum, Merry Christmas." I smiled shyly.
I made my way down the rest of the stairs and stood infront of Callum.
"Why don't you guys come have pancakes with us and then you can exchange gifts." My mom smiled.
"Actually I have a date with Jasper," Amity shrugged and winked, walking out the door.
Callum followed me to the kitchen and I told him to sit down.
He took a seat next to me and my dad lifted the paper away from his face.
He cleared his throat. "And you are?"
"Oh, hi sir! I'm Callum. I'm your daughters..." He looked at me and I scolded him with my eyes. "Friend. I'm your daughters good friend."
I let out my breath and shot a quick smile towards him.
"Like I'm going to believe that." My dad crossed his arms.
"Dad!" I began.
"No it's ok." Callum stopped me. "Sir your daughter and I are in no way in a relationship. She is a great friend and quite frankly, I'm glad to have one like her." Callum sat firmly in his chair, his eyes fixed upon my dad.
My body shook and I could practically feel the sweat on my face.
Then Callum wrapped his fingers around mine and a sudden calm washed over me.
My dad then softened. "You're a good kid Callum. I remember you from when Brooke was little. Don't let me down."
My mom walked in and set down our pancakes. Callum pulled away his hand, which gave me a weird feeling that I wanted to go away; and I knew it only would if Callum held my hand again. I wanted to push that feeling away, but I couldn't.
"Dig in everyone." My mom smiled and sat down next to my dad.
For the rest of breakfast, we talked about Callum, and his family. The question of why he wasn't with his family came up and he got as white as a ghost, which caused me to hold his hand and change the subject. I was as surprised as he was.
