The words his daughter spoke kept him up for days, he paced the floor back and forth of his home as Shantiq slept in complete slumber. The time was six in the morning. He hadn't prayed in over a year. He wasn't the same man he once was and it did bother him. He often wondered if he was forsaken by God. Then he also questioned himself, the things he's done and said. He knew that he brought it on himself, he had not done anything righteous In a long, long time.
"God, what have I done to upset you? What can I do to make things right? I've hit rock bottom. My children hate me. I feel like I no longer hear from you.. my wife, my wife chose an unthinkable path... I'm in love with a woman that I committed a heinous sin to be with.. God, help." He prayed in silence.
He listened and listened. Hoping he would hear from him but it was nothing. Complete silence. Complete utter silence.
"I can not forgive one who doesn't deem himself worthy of forgiveness.. stand up." The voice of God spoke to him after hours of silence and him practically falling on his face, asleep, drooling out the mouth on the bedroom floor. He stood slowly to his feet. "I do not condone your adulterous actions. I do not like false gods or prophets. You know the path that you have chosen, you seek me, but seek me with a falseth tongue. Leave your actions and wicked ways behind you, forgive thyself and you shall be forgiven." Tears rolled down Kevin's face. He knew what was needed to be done but was he willing to do what was needed to be done? He looks at Shantiq, shaking his head.. He couldn't go back to sleep. It was just too much on his mind, it was overbearing.
