I debated on this chapter too. Part of me didn't want to write this. I wanted to keep Logan perfect but, I also couldn't have their relationship to perfect, I wanted them to push for couples therapy even more. So, we going with this and I wanted to push Heaven to her breaking point to where she has no choice BUT to break down and be vulnerable.

Logan.

Under the scorching sun of a late summer afternoon, Logan stood beside the sizzling grill, expertly flipping burgers with practiced precision. The savory aroma of grilled meat filled the air, mingling with the sound of laughter and chatter from nearby friends and family gathered for a backyard barbecue. As he worked, Jace sidled up beside him, a cold drink in hand. "Looks like you've got this grill under control," he remarked, nodding towards the perfectly seared patties.

Logan grinned, a bead of sweat trickling down his forehead. "You bet. Can't have a barbecue without some perfectly grilled burgers," he replied, his voice tinged with pride.

He chuckled, taking a sip of his drink. "So, what's the secret to your burger-flipping prowess?" he asked, eyes twinkling with curiosity. Logan shrugged, his gaze momentarily drifting towards the table that was perfectly set up for their gathering. "Just gotta keep an eye on the grill and know when to flip," he explained. "But hey, it's not just about the burgers. It's about the company too."

As they continued to cook, the scent of sizzling meat and the sounds of laughter filled the air, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that seemed to linger long after the last burger had been served.

He laughed, shaking his head in disbelief. "Man, he tried to threaten me the other day, as if that's supposed to faze me," he remarked. "I've been through it all—been shot at, had grenades explode next to me, even been stabbed. And now he thinks I'm scared of dying? Nah, Fuck outta here."

"What's his deal, anyways, him and Heaven was decades ago?" Jace laughs.

Logan smacked his lips as he flipped the burger on the grill, stealing a glance at his companion. "You know, when you've got a woman like Heaven, you're not eager to let her slip away. She's my everything. I'd do anything for her, so I can't blame the nigga for being upset about losing her," he chuckled. "Sure, she's got her flaws, but she's a remarkable woman."
