The next day, I woke up feeling like I was trapped in a nightmare I couldn't escape. My body was heavy with sedation, and my mind was foggy, but the sharp edge of grief pierced through it all. Memories of the previous day replayed in my head on an endless loop, the sound of the gunshot, Logan falling, my screams filling the hall.

I was lying in the hospital bed, the room quiet except for the soft hum of the machines. The door opened, and Tolerie walked in, followed by Big A, Logan's right-hand woman, best friend, and second in command of his security firm. Their faces were drawn with worry and exhaustion.

"Like I don't understand how he was even able to get into the wedding, let alone have a gun and get that close," I said, my voice cracking as I sat up. Tears streamed down my face as I looked at Big A, searching for answers. "Where was everyone? Logan's people, you. Where the fuck were you?"

Big A's face crumpled with guilt, her eyes filled with unshed tears

Big A's face crumpled with guilt, her eyes filled with unshed tears. "Heaven, I'm so sorry. We thought Neo had left town. We didn't expect him to show up, and we definitely didn't think he'd do something like this."
