'Return'
Red vines trickled throughout the dead forest, wrapping around the withered plantations around the area. It took over the space with no effort, the ground pulsing dangerously underneath the contagious virus.
"Don't know... Haven't... Him since... Think... He's been busy... Pandora's vault." Distant voices were heard, slowly increasing in volume as the figures grew closers.
"I visited the other day and he wasn't there." One of the two figures spoke in suspicions making the other shrug. But before they could could continue their conversation, they were greeted with the sight of the plagued forest.
----
George jolted up, panting heavily as he rushes back into consciousness. It was going so well, why did it have to end so soon? He felt tears run down his cheeks but he was too occupied to care.
In a blink, he was like purposely kicked out of the dream. Even though it wasn't even real, he couldn't bring himself to brush it off. The sight of her. In immense pain and struggling to fight back the force.
He had no clue what he just witnessed before his eyes... But it was gruesome.
She was fading, glitching and shattering into pieces at the same time, her loud groans as she started to disappear...
What the hell...
----
"Dream?" Niki nervously asked, breathing heavily at the sight of Y's disappearance. Dream didn't care if she just witnessed a revival, he's going to get Y/n back. This was the happiest he's ever been in 4 months. For the first time in what felt like forever, he finally felt sane.
"Hey! What's happening in there? Niki it's time to leave!" The familiar voice of Sam ringed out catching both of their attention. "I guess you can keep the jukebox." He shrugged as he flicked a few levers, sending a platform for Niki.
"I hope what you did worked." Niki smiled slightly before hopping on the obsidian platform and leaving Dream. He folded the letter, keeping it in-between the pages of his journals. This was by far the most eventful day he's ever had from living off this damned cell.
Dream didn't know how long it would take for her revival but he couldn't wait. He wanted to be there for it, he wanted to be the first one to greet her for her return.
A relieved sigh escaped his lips. This was it. He'll finally get the hell out of this place. He'll finally see, feel, hear her again. He couldn't wait.
"What an interesting place." Dream smiled at the familiar voice, knowing exactly who it was. He turned around to meet XD's eyes, his green eyes connecting with the God's golden ones.
"I expected you'd escaped by now." The god breathed in disappointment, eyes trailing around the cell. "I assume you're waiting for her?" He asked Dream who only smiled.
"You are." XD's voice started to echo, as he hovered around the obsidian flooring, towering over his counter part.
"Where is she?" The air thickened with tension as the mortal grew impatient with the god.
"She's still in the void." XD shrugged, unbothered by Dream's attitude. "I'd like to share a few words with you before I revive her."
The god was now fully focused on Dream, the halos surrounding him turning darker as towered over him.
"A few what-nots wouldn't hurt..."
"Get on with it."
"Don't be in such a rush. You might not even recognize her if she's actually here."
"What the fuck does that mean?"
"I'm just saying... She might not be the same person anymore."
"I don't care."
"Oh well... I guess it's none of my business..."
"Do you remember the plague I told you about, Dream?"
"Mm..."
"It's made it's way to the surface. I need you to take care of it. Bring your little pig friend and Y/n along."
"What?! How the fuck are we supposed to take care of that?! We're fucking humans."
"You'll find your way. I've got a gift for you to make up for it."
XD didn't bother explaining further, with a turn of his figure, he was gone, Leaving behind puffs of smoke clouding throughout the cell.
For a split second, Dream couldn't see anything but once it was all cleared out, he found none other than you, standing where XD once were.
"Took you long enough."
