glenn and briar had been the designated supply runners for the whole two months that the apocalypse had been occurring. neither of them minded, they were both quick on their feet and it only took them a few hours to get there and back. and it had just been them. only them.

however, a small group that lived in the camp had been dying to prove themselves and earn their keep for the past few weeks and the duo had insisted that the safest option was for the two of them to do it alone.

"guys, please. we've been begging for weeks and i know i'm strong enough to handle myself out there," briar had taken a liking to andrea and had become one of her good friends during their time at the quarry, but she was getting very tired of hearing her trying to get them to take her with them.

"no andrea, we've told you before. it's for the safety of the group," she retorted, rolling her eyes slightly as she turned away, kneeling down to lace up her boots and secure her wavy, brown hair in a messy ponytail, half of it not even in the hairtie.

"come on, bri. what would it hurt? it's safer in a big group," shane insisted, walking over to the duo. briar looked up at shane, frowning slightly as she put on her cap, pulling her ponytail through the back hole. she gave in, only choosing five other people to go; Jaqui, Andrea, Morales, T-Dog, and Merle. she despised merle very deeply, as he had continued to try and make a move on her since he and his little brother daryl had walked into the camp to rob them, but briar and shane had been on watch at the time and had shut them down.

briar, glenn, and the others made their way into the city and found themselves in a department store. the two best friends left the group in the department store after ensuring that they were prepared with weapons in case something were to happen.

briar and glenn were sat atop a roof, watching the walkers gather around a tank after a cowboy stupidly ran into there for safety, killing his horse friend. briar was mildly upset after witnessing the poor animal die - she had always had a love for horses and used to ride them with her friend, maggie, in middle school.

"so, what do we do? do we just leave him there?" glenn questioned. as much as briar loved risk, she had concluded that it is far too risky, especially with the group just around the corner.

" 'don't know," she mumbled, looking through her binoculars. an idea popped into her head as she picked up the radio, switching the channel and spoke into the radio, "hey, you in the tank. getting comfy in there?" her sassy tone dripped out of her mouth excessively as she looked toward the tank, the group of brain eaters growing around the dusty old thing.

"h-hello? can you hear me?" the mystery man panicked, briar biting her tongue to prevent herself from bursting out into laughter from the man's confusion. glenn nudged her playfully, grinning before taking the radio from her hands.

"no, we can't," he sarcastically said, briar howling in laughter beside him, holding onto him for support. they heard the man sigh heavily down the radio, shutting the two friends up abruptly. "yes we can hear and see you. okay, have any ammo?"

the cowboy's end of the radio rustled for a few moments before the man spoke into the radio, "a beretta, about 15 rounds," glenn looked to briar, who waited for glenn to respond, "okay, there's a geek on top of the tank, you're gonna have to kill that and then take a run into the alley on the left. not the right - it's crowded with those ugly things,"

the man and glenn continued to talk as briar picked up her backpack before helping glenn up and going down to the fire escape, waiting in the alleyway for the cowboy to appear. the two could hear a few gunshots before the man bolted into alley, skidding to a stop and pointing his gun at the duo. glenn put his hands up whereas briar widened her eyes at realization to who it is before rolling her eyes and pushing the gun down from posing at her and glenn.

the two led rick up the fire escape before nearly collapsing in exhaustion in the middle, briar sitting on the floor while the men stood up and leant against the fire escape, breathing heavily.

"nice moves, clint eastwood," glenn joked, looking to rick with a smirk as rick looked off into the growing crowd of walkers beneath them. rick had introduced himself to glenn and briar, the latter keeping her mouth clamped shut as glenn made the conversation with their new friend. briar was pissed at rick - why was he being so stupid to come into the city on a damn horse, hiding in a tank, and then making glenn and herself risk their lives to save his lazy ass.

the trio made their way into the place where the group were holed up, t-dog and morales appearing with riot gear on before smashing some geeks heads in with baseball bats while they all ran inside, andrea giving rick no time to breathe before pinning him up against a cabinet, her gun trained on his head.

"we ought to kill you, you son of a bitch," she growled, spitting venom in his face as his face staying worryingly calm. this not only pissed off andrea but also pissed off briar. why wasn't he taking anybody seriously? he could've gotten all of them killed, and he was concerned about looking all cool. she walked away before her mouth could open and looked outside, spotting the group of walkers had started to stumble their way toward the group.

shit, he had gotten them killed.
