the raining down on bullets could be heard throughout the small department store as rick and the group raced into the area that briar was sat in. she stood up quickly, turning to face her group."who the fuck is that?" she seethed, ready to beat whoever's ass is shooting those bullets.
"dixon." morales and jaqui said simultaneously, briar already halfway up the stairs before they could even blink. the others looked at each other before speeding to follow the woman who was bursting through the door to the roof, merle dixon turning around with a big grin on his face, showing his old, rotting teeth.
"sugartits! welcome to the party!" he exclaimed, jumping down from the half-wall that surrounded the roof. briar rolled her eyes, walking forward to merle quickly.
"what the hell do you think you're doin'? getting us killed just because you wanna waste your bullets," she snarled at him, his face dropping and turning into a deep scowl as he looked at her threateningly, the others witnessing this as they finally made their way upstairs.
"best be nice to a man with a gun, only common sense," he joked, getting no laughs from the disappointed group.
"merle, just shut up. you're bringing every walker for miles here," t-dog had regretted opening his mouth as soon has he spoke, the disgusting man taking his eyes off of briar and looking at the man.
"oh really? last time i checked i don't take orders from a n****," t-dog burst forward, swinging at merle as he laughed loudly. the groups faces were disgusted as they heard what the man had said. merle had gotten the upper hand, sitting above t-dog as he punched him a few times and cracked his head off of a nearby pipe. rick, considering himself a superhero, walked forward and attempted to get merle off of his newfound friend and it resulted in him laying on the ground with blood running from his nose rapidly. it took everything in briar not to laugh at rick. merle stood up, and held his handgun, aiming it at the small group who stood in shock, briar off to the side slightly.
"now, let's have a democracy, who makes me leader?" he cockily suggested, nobody raising their hand. merle scoffed, cocking the gun as jaquis hand shot up to protect the group, the rest of them raising their hands slowly. briar snuck around to the back of him, standing behind him silently, "now, here we go!"
"hey dickwipe," briar whispered, merle turning around to get a punch in the teeth. he fell to the floor dramatically, rick handing over his handcuffs as she dragged him over to the same pipe he just cracked t-dog on, handcuffing him to it and putting the key in her pocket.
"hey! let me the fuck go!" he yelled in her face. briar took the gun from her belt and aimed it at him, using his own words against him.
"best be nice to a woman with a gun, only common sense," she mocked, the pathetic man beneath her looking away from her harsh glare that could make the flowers wilt. she stood back, letting rick use his "good cop" attitude toward him. she found it pathetic that he swooped in and acted like he was the new leader. he was the one that made this happen in the first place.
the group went back downstairs as t-dog was left with merle to attempt to get a connection in order to communicate with camp, and they were trying to figure out a way to leave while remaining undetected by the growing crowd of ghouls outside. glenn had decided to take morales down into the sewers after jaqui had told them that the sewage system leads out to an alleyway, and they can get a vehicle and leave.
meanwhile, briar was sitting atop a small stack of boxes, looking at the collection of jewelry that the store had. there were some rings that were big and sparkly and full of diamonds, but briar had decided on a simple, gold ring with a small, emerald green diamond in the middle. green and gold jewelry had always been her favorite. so she stuck her hand inside of the glass cabinet and slipped it on effortlessly. it looked beautiful and contrasted with her olive skin that was tanned with the georgia heat. as she pulled her hand out of the box, a geek had smashed the glass and now there was only one layer of protection between them and the hundreds of alive-dead people dying to get in there.
glenn and morales ran up into the main room where they all where, "did you guys find anything?" briar questioned, morales shaking his head quickly, "shit, so what are we gonna do?" at that moment, it seemed a lightbulb had went off in ricks head.

briar and andrea had no idea why they were listening to a man who had woken up two days ago while the end of the world had been going on for 2 months. however, they had no choice to comply as they were running out of options quickly.
after rick had hacked into the geek lying on the floor as if they were doing a dissection in science class, he had started to smear it on briar, glenn and himself. the woman had felt violently ill as soon as the guts had touched her white labcoat, however, she had other concerns. glenn was trying not to be sick, so she rubbed her hand up and down his back, whispering words of encouragement to him,
"just think of positive things, puppies and kittens," she smiled at him lightly, distracting herself more than him, and it was sure as hell working.
"dead puppies and kittens," t-dogs words made glenn turn around and heave all the food he had eaten for the past 3 days onto the floor and briars shoes. she groaned loudly, sending a sharp glare t's way, who smiled sheepishly. she turned back to wiping the guts on herself, and when she finished doing so, she lifted the axe off of the floor and waited for rick and glenn to be finished. when they did, they made a quick exit and begun to walk through the large crowd of walkers. briar kept her eyes looking straight forward and tried her hardest not to kill herself laughing when glenn started to imitate a geek when it started to get suspicious. feeling a drop of water land on her hand wielding the axe. she looked back at glenn, who's eyes widened in shock, before whispering to rick,
"it's coming off, oh my god, it's coming off," his voice was panicky as he looked to the geeks surrounding them, their interest becoming more apparent in them as the rain continued to fall.
"it's not, just shut up and keep going," briar hated ricks tone toward glenn. he was panicking, and rightfully so. turns out it was coming off, as a walker snarled in the direction of glenn, briar turning around and slicing through the geeks head, pulling it out quickly as rick yelled, "run!"
and that's what they did. avoiding the walkers moulding hands reaching for a bite of their skin, they made a break toward the tall fence, throwing their weapons over the top of it. they quickly climbed over, the water making it more difficult for them to do so. the three dropped down, and made a run toward a u-haul and a red racing car. briar and glenn had run to the red car, saying their goodbyes before smashing in the windows and climbing in. briar, sat shotgun, turned on the CD that was in the player and turned it up as loud as possible before glenn had sped off, the car alarm making the geeks follow the car slowly as they drove around atlanta, hair blowing in the wind and smiles as big as the sky.
