Country club

LUCE WAS DREADING IT BUT SHE KNEW SHE HAD to work in order to pay rent and you know... buy drugs. As her habit became worse, she was getting later, and later on her rent. Only reason she still had a place to stay was cause the landlord Crystal had known her for her entire life.

Otherwise, she'd be out on her ass, which Crystal had made pretty clear.

Another downside of working besides, you know, working was JJ Maybank. As one of her ex best friends, she wasn't surprised he stared at her, hoping she would speak to him. John B was missing, and because of that, the Pogues were hoping she'd reach out.

She just didn't know how to after all this time.

"Excuse me, do you mind getting me a refill?" Lu was snapped out of her thoughts as a boy tapped on her shoulder, holding out a cup.

His name was Clayton Hampton, rich as hell Kook, who was in Luce's section with his other rich as hell friends.

"Sure." The Ali girl snatched it from his hand, and turned on her heel without saying much else. She wasn't very well versed in customer service, not that she cared to be.

She didn't care about much anymore.

The girl made her way to the soda hose, remembering he had ordered a simple sprite. The ice bucket was right near it so, she shoveled the ice into the cup before pouring the soda in. She took a deep breathe and turned around, almost knocking right into someone as a result.

"Jesus, JJ. What the fuck are you doing?" Luce questioned angrily, her brows furrowed.

"Well I was waiting for you to say something but like... you didn't so..." the Maybank boy shrugged lightly, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "Why didn't you?"

"I don't know what you want me to say, okay? Sorry our friend is dead and supposedly took the kook princess down with him after killing the sheriff? It's not gonna change the fact that he's gone." Lu shrugged and walked around him, trying to make her way to her table.

"You know him better than that, he didn't do anything!" JJ yelled after her, the girl trying not to pay him any mind.

She walked over to the Kook table, and placed the sprite in front of Clayton gently.

"Anything else I can get y'all?" She asked, looking around the table.

She locked eyes with the boy sitting next to Clayton, they had crossed paths when getting things from Barry but, hadn't talked cause, what was there to say?

"Coop here was gonna ask for your number but, I uh... I told him your friends with the sheriff killer and that he shouldn't." Kelce spoke to her, a smug grin on his face. "I don't know what else someone would expect from a Pogue."

"At least he got what was coming to him, and it saved them the expense of a trial." Another Kook girl spoke, Luce digging her fingernails into the palms of her hands to keep herself from yelling at them.
